I love interesting color combinations. I depend on this a lot when creating outfits since much of what I have is basic and not really statement pieces. Combos I've been favoring lately: Bright green, Purple ~ Bright orange, Turquoise/Teal~ Bright pink Turquoise.

Now that Fall is almost here I'm excited to see which combos I'll favor. I love darker, deeper colors.

Thanks Tara, I bought a few BF cardigans at loft in colors I don't usually wear (muted green & brown) and this really inspires me. I love the red & green. I am trying to wear different color combinations this helps.

Great post, Tara! I find #3 and #7 particularly appealing. I'm always so focused on the outfit that I forget how much color can update a look too. Those are great combinations to think about when choosing accessories too.

Oh, these are wonderful - and so inspiring. I tend to always fall back on my "safe" colors whenever I add color to my outift. I would love to be able to wear some of the warm color combinations. I have a cool color skin tone and eye color, so to be able to add some color from the warm spectrum would be so fun! Thank you for posting these!

I'm intriguied by the purple and lime green combo. I don't have lime green but I do have a very bright citron green....do you think that will work just as well? I'm picturing the citron flyaway ruffle cardi with my dark purple KC silk dress....

Mental note: sky blue + mustard, dark green + hot pink need to be tried soon

These are fun, but I've always thought of red with olive and thought it was a classic combo. I think the burnt orange works with the lavendar because of the third color in the mix, that dull olive sweater. Same thoughts with the purple bag shown with the mustard and light blue and orange with the lemon and dark green. Mauve & neon yellow ( #2) looks like it needs a third color...maybe a soft brown or medium blue?

Oh, like this post - you would guess this with my love for colors! Hmm, I think my favorites are ##3, 6,and 7. I already have pieces for #3 but alas, no dark green, lime and shoking pink in my wardrobe at this moment :-(
I am already using ## 1 and 4.
I think you are right, Tara: you cna incorporate colors which are not the best on you as accessories and keep them away from your face - this allows to expand the color choices tremendously!

I love olive green and tomato red and wear those two colors together often, along with cream. Angie actually turned me onto that combination a couple of years ago when I first joined the site. I also like olive green and citron as a combination, I always get a lot of compliments when I wear it.

Hot pink and dark green has also been a combination I've been a fan of for a long time. I especially like it when it's mixed with lighter shades of pink or green, like the dress they've posted. It softens the look a little and makes it a little more wearable, I think.

I LOVE the combination of royal purple and lime. I may give that a try since lime is one of my favorite greens to wear and I'm always at a loss as to how to wear purple.

Thanks for posting this, Tara!

I remember trying the tomato red and olive green after this blog entry; they others I think are so striking but I haven't built up the nerve yet to try them.

Warning - some of these colour combos not for the faint hearted! :-)
This site has some really yummy, interesting ideas for colour combos. I'm certainly inspired!
http://www.fashionmefabulous.c.....tions.html

I have been really thinking about what kinds of colours I can wear lately...I am really inspired by Angie's usually bold, striking colour palette and how well she wears brights on her very pale skin.

I think one trick is to pair a colour not in your usual or "suitable" colour palette (if you go by the seasonal autumn/winter/spring/summer categories), with one of your most dominant "suitable" colours.

For example, as a summer I suit muted pastels (such as lilac), whereas autumn colours like burnt orange don't usually work for me. But I think paired with a colour like lilac (see below) it could work for me! If I use accents of burnt orange and ensure plenty of my dominant colour is in the outfit it could work, right?

I enjoy the lilac/burnt orange combo below, tomato red/olive (very on-trend!), dark green and pink, and blue/mustard.

What do you guys think? Any of these colour combos tickle you?
