I'm not a VS fan either. I love the impact that their colourful underwear makes because I’m attracted to anything bright and colourful, but all the underwear pieces that I have ever bought there have been disappointing. I’ll fitting and bad quality. Underwear preferences are such a personal thing – truly horses for courses in this arena.

Thanks everyone! I have to be honest, I'm not a big VS secret fan. I find it offensive that they use such young unrealistic models. I suppose that is true of most retailers though. I will take a peek the next time I'm at the mall. But I will also check out the Jockeys Angie is talking about.

Thanks again!

This post is interesting because I've had a completely different experience with the brands everyone else has mentioned.

First, I am wondering how anyone wears regular bikini panties. I'm not being sarcastic in asking this question. I can see my bikini-panty-line under everything except dresses (and even some fitted dresses if I'm not wearing hose). I don't go for tight clothes, but anything that fits my rear shows pantylines.

Second, I have had horrible experiences with Vicky's Secret with one exception. I find their quality to be bottom-rung. I own a pair of Chantelle panties that have lasted me almost four years and are still in good-looking shape, but VS goes South in less than a year and bunches in the bum. I do like their seamless boyshorts (Not the real short-like shorts, but the ones that don't completely cover the rear. I don't know the official name). But even on those, once the seam started to go, they showed my VPL.

I tried the Jockey Modal Briefs, but I found them to be a bit frumpy for my taste. And, to boot, I could see the panty-line, both on my thighs (with fitted pants) and in the rear. These are solely flowy-dress panties for me now.

Finally, Hanky Panky thongs are lovely, but the "one-size fit all" claim is a bunch of hooey. They don't go small enough, so I have an excess of fabric in my nethers. I do think they are pretty and wear them anyway (no panty-line!) but I don't think I'm getting the full "experience".

I'm still in search of the perfect fitting panty. I actually sincerely dislike traditional rear cuts that cover my rump. I prefer seamless style panties that do not fully cover the rear. Hanky-Panky Thongs are nice because they aren't (as my step-father used to so ungraciously call them) butt-floss, but they don't cover the booty.

Sigh. The travails of the undy-searcher. If only HP would make a "one-size-fits-all" for us smaller-hipped folk.

I also give my vote to Victoria's Secret. The selection is really great and always the most fun colors and designs! The Cheeky Hipsters are also a good alternative to a thong.

I also have some of the Jockey Modal Briefs and the are, as Angie said, super comfortable and look good under pretty much everything!

I like Jockey's seamless 100% cotton modal briefs (boy shorts) and wear a pair every day. I buy all my undies on-line from Bare Necessities at $8 a piece. I think they look lovely and they feel even better. And no VPL’s. I like full coverage around my bottom and a curved waistband that’s low in front. I just adore them!

I'll second Victorias Secret out of all places. I like the low rise hipster from Pink collection, I have around 20 pairs of them. They are very comfy, stretchy cotton, pretty low rise so that they don't peek even out of very low rise pants, and cover the whole rear. They alos save you from VPL in most cases, and they're 5 for $25.
My second favorite are low rise thongs from Hanky Panky, which are much more comfortable then any other thongs I've ever tried, tough they're a bit of a splurge for $18 a piece.

Victoria's Secret is my favorite place, and on sale, the cost isn't too bad. Certainly not $50! They have lots of different styles and sizes and materials to help find just the right style for you. Other than Victoria's Secret, I have heard great things about Gap as well.

what can i say...i shop for undies at the Gap and i love their collection. it's just basic and fits me well. i'm all about 100% cotton and i don't do thongs, either. i get the hipster and it's low enough to go under low rise jeans but not too low. it also covers my rear so that i feel, well, covered. Underwear is such a hard thing because every body is different. i have tried expensive brands and i have tried boy shorts and sheer or "seemless", but i keep going back to the Gap.

I have a really difficult time finding skivvies that are comfortable and flattering. I am not a fan of thongs. I don't have a particularly bodacious booty. I don't want the tops of my underwear to show over the tops of my pants. I have a hard time finding underwear that does not sag in the back. And after 2 nine pound + babies and a C-Section....well let's leave it at that.

I recently bought some panties that were called "cheeky cut". They are alright, actually fit my tush pretty well. But I can't help but think there is something better out there. I was floored when I was shopping for panties and saw some that were $50+ Does anyone here spend that kind of money on skivvies??
