My only gripe was it was too long for me, but that was solved easily with a pair of scissors. It fits just as well as my modal slips of similar shape, which I sleep in, but I wouldn't sleep in this slip, because it's synthetic. I don't wear those as slips; they are for sleeping. What I had been wearing is a silk negligee I got from VS ages and ages ago. The Commando works better because it has no lace on the top, for smoother fit. But silk works pretty dang well for a slip... it allows the dress to, well, slip. No static or cling etc. And as you mentioned, it is not shapewear -- it is not meant to be tight and suck it all in. It does do a beautiful job of skimming over bumps and lumps and panty lines. I love it most of all because I just don't really notice I'm wearing it. </p> <p>The Gap one may be JUST as good. I will have to give it a whirl. I think I may need to stock up on more. I would caution that my recommendation is for petites only: I am not sure they would work as well on someone taller. My issue with tights is that so many wind up being way. Too. Big. Too. Loose. Too Long. Even the smallest size. They'll bag out at the ankles. The waistband will go up to my neck. Etc. Mine is a small and it fits but is not a squeeze. The straps are adjustable. It's not shapewear at all, but it did the job perfectly today. I did not compare to the Commando as it was hard to find in black in a S. Overall I'm happy with it. </p> <p>If I could find the Commando slip for $35 I'd get it, based on the quality of the tights.</p> <p>Elizabeth, I had to order the tights. OMG! I am not segmented, and my tights are not sticking to my dress. Dresses will have a whole new lease on life in my closet! </p> <p>Thanks to everyone for all the recommendations on my segmented issues. This Gap slip is quite nice, though it will be short on anyone taller than me, and a lot cheaper than the other ones I consided.
