I love how whimsical the coronation decorations are!</p> <p>Now you have to share some of those garden and food photos too.&nbsp; </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/uk-travel-observations-and-photos#post-2323436 Thu, 18 May 2023 18:23:45 +0000 Carla 2323436@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>This is the 4th time DH and I have travelled to the UK, and the 4th time we have experienced wonderful weather with the exception of the first two days, which were cool and overcast. &nbsp;No rain! &nbsp;I’ve been taking a lot of photos, but half are flowers and gardens, and a quarter are food! &nbsp;Below are some of the&nbsp;<i>other&nbsp;</i>pictures I’ve taken. &nbsp;</p> <p><div><br /></div><div>#1 many an alley was decorated for the coronation<br />#2 boats for hire on the Thames.&nbsp;</div><div>#3 stumbled upon the tavern that is featured in ‘Ted Lasso’<br />#4 sunset as seen from our hotel window<br />#5 Red deer in Richmond park&nbsp;<br />#6 the line up at Platform 9 3/4’s Kings Cross!<br />#7 the river Cam<br />#8 one of the colleges (King’s College?) most of the colleges were closed to the public since students are preparing for exams. &nbsp;Some gates were open, but only for a peep inside. &nbsp;<br /></div><div>#9 I take a lot of pictures of doors and gates…<br />#10 everywhere (Richmond, London, Cambridge) it seems ‘No Mow May’ is a ‘thing’. &nbsp;With the exception of playing fields, the grass was ‘let go’&nbsp;<i>everywhere. &nbsp;</i>In some places it looked post apocalyptic - with vegetation ranging from grasses 10-12 inches, or ‘weeds’ up to 4 feet on any grassy patch ranging from domestic lawns and public parks, to meridians that divide the street. &nbsp;Queen Anne’s lace, buttercups, blue bells - all blooming. &nbsp;</div><div>#11 - how old is this wall?<br />#12 - the tile floor entry of the Fizwilliam Museum.</div> </p>
