It seems like everything is so chunky, and it doesn't look good on my small frame. I did find some good stuff this past year, but it was almost all purchased online with a LOT of looking. And I did a LOT of returns also. It's hard to say without hearing a little elaboration on what you consider "ugly" since that tends to be in the eye of the beholder. </p> <p>It was the year I found my serious summer workhorse "edgy" sandals (the LD Tuttles), my turquoise cowboy boots, the Ugg Cortona boots, and others that have edged some old favorite footwear out of my closet (also nodding along the Okalas but I barely got to wear them much, so they will get more play in 2014), so I can't call it a bad year for me. </p> <p>That said, all of these things were items I found via YLF, online, or through non-typical shopping (the turquoise cowboy boots found on a trip to Cavenders in TX for very non-fashiony weatherproof work boots). I have not found much in the way of head-turning footwear in the actual B&amp;M stores in the last year. Almond or pointy toe, chunky, stacked or slim heel, great leather or suede, neutrals only. No decorations, embellishments, bows, buckles (except on moto booties), trim, patent, ankle straps... I found more Paul Green styles that I covet this year than I need or can afford. But that's usually the case with that label. I am very fond of the Cole Haan Cassidy bootie and tall boot, and duplicated those in different colors. I enjoyed a number of Eileen Fisher's offerings this year and added HEWI tall boots, finally flattering and comfy pumps, and a grey suede bootie. Never found my pewter version of anything, or my leopard. But, I'm feeling good about my shoe collection for the first time in years. Sandals, now that's a whole different story.
