I am so sorry you are feeling down about your hair and it is adding to your stress. At one point years ago I had a stress related case of alopecia where a silver dollar patch of hair behind my ear fell out and it freaked me out somewhat. It came back and never happened again. In the meantime, my hair stylist helped me figure out a cut to cover it and really was so supportive (I miss Phillip so much!). Do you have a trusted stylist? You might want to confide in them what your concerns are because chances are they have seen and helped other clients with similar concerns (due to pregnancy, medication, aging, etc.).

One thing that has helped me during my in between stages of growing out layers and even now, pushing my bangs off my forehead on warm days, is a simple head band. Whenever I am growing out hair, they seem to be a good solution. I found a couple of cute DIY but you can buy those really adorable scarf covered head bands or even nice tortoise shell versions at drugstore.

Elly, you poor thing! Have you considered some health suppliments geared towards hair loss issues? You can consult a naturopath to see if anything can be tried for your hair without affecting your other health issues.
I had a huge hair loss when I was pregnant - I think my hair thickness went down 1/3. I think it was because I was later diagnosed with a thyroid problem and those hormone changes during my first pregnancy just triggered that. What helped me was to cut it shorter. I went from almost waist length hair to a chin length bob and hair loss diminished very much. I guess all this combing and washing long hair really stresses it out and short hair is easier to handle.

Elly. You have STUNNING hair! Each time you post a pic I am especially amazed at your hair, and how it frames your beautiful face. Maybe you just have so much of it, that it falling out is really just a natural thing that's not at all worth worrying about.

I don't want to appear un-empathetic because it's bothering you and I want you to be happy. I just shared my perceptions because things can look so different to others than when we ourselves look in the mirror.

((HUGS)).

In the past 2-3 months I've had a ton of my hair fall out (finding piles of it everywhere and coming out with fingerfuls each time I run my hands through it). I have fine hair but a lot of it to begin with, but in the past couple years it has thinned out. The thinning is related to my health problems, and unfortunately because of the causes of the thinning there isn't much I can do to prevent it other than do my best to take care of my health.

I've had periods of a lot of hair loss before where certain areas (especially around my face) have gotten very thin but I was so excited because in the last year I've had a ton of regrowth. This means I have a bunch of wispys of all different lengths, but regrowth is regrowth!

Anyway, it has thinned again to the point where it looks ok down (shoulder length) where it hangs around my face when it is squeaky clean and freshly styled, but doesn't look good for long, or pulled back--- which is such a must for me between having fine flyaway hair and all the time I spend outdoors or being active. It has to be able to be kept out of my face! Right now the wispys are creating a frizzy mullet look in a pony tail, but they are too profuse to slick back and too delicate to clip or pin. Also, the hairline and temples are getting close to being a little "scalp heavy". I can no longer french braid my hair because it is thin enough that there is too much weight on the front sections.

Im just at a loss with what to do--- I'm feeling self-concious about it and not liking what I see in the mirror and am tired of fussing with it--- it is always hanging in my face because there isn't enough hair to style with some body to keep it off my face or in a messy pony that is a disaster.

Plus, I'm going grey prematurely.

Honestly, Im so frustrated my solution would be a purple buzz cut, but that probably isn't the best solution for job hunting . . .
