I've got slipper boot Uggs, and I think they're adorable, if a bit juvenile. I don't wear them much outside the house, though, because they're useless in the wet, they get dirty easily, and they're too hot when it's sunny out. Plus I have so many other pairs of much more stylish boots that look like they actually belong to a grownup. So mostly I wear them as slippers around the house in the winter. But I don't know why they get so much hate -- I think they're cute, when worn the way they should be worn (over skinny jeans or leggings, with a tunic). The poufiness adds volume to my lower leg, which often balances things out with a tunic and tight pants.</p> <p>I have seen some non-slipper Uggs in stores recently, however, and I have to say I'm impressed. Sadly, the leather tore apart after about 6 wears. I've admired their other non-slipper boots, but when pricey pieces die on me like that I refuse to gamble on the brand ever again (see also: Miz Mooz). It has been knocked off at half the price and the market is saturated. </p> <p>Ugg actually makes extremely fab NON-SLIPPER boots which are of high quality, comfortable and very attractive. But their branding has them stuck with the slipper boot. It's sad.
