Thanks for all the wonderful feedback and suggestions for styling - I will definitely post some WIWs as I add everything into my wardrobe. I wore the red flats yesterday and they worked great.

These were from two different places - the first one tends to have higher prices but more brand name stuff, while the second is a bit more tedious to go through but cheaper. I spent only $6 for the second pair of shoes so $15 seemed like a lot in comparison...

It's so cool that other people like thrifting too - I kinda grew up with it so it seems natural to me, and a good way to save money and reuse items that are still good. But there's a lot more choice these days than there was when I was a kid, at least in this area. Wonder if the economy keeps slowing down that we'll all keep things longer rather than donating them.

I also love seeing what people find thrifting. You have some great pieces here- your shoes alone made it worth it. And they're good reminders not to give up. I haven't been thrifting much lately because they never have my size, but... there are always accessories!

Oh, gorgeous stuff - where do you thrift? Two pairs of red shoes! You're on some kind of streak, obviously. Can't wait to see some pix of you in these great scores.

My climbing partner cancelled on me this morning... think I'll head to Value Village.

I have also had some luck thrifting lately, although not as many great items as you.

Fantastic thrifting finds! I especially like the two black and white items. Please post outfit pics with these.

Fantastic! All lovely, good-quality items in like-new shape. Good work!

I love to thrift--probably 3/4 of my wardrobe is secondhand--so it is great fun to see this sort of haul. How about some outfit photos, so that we can see how you'll use these pretty things?

Amazing haul! I love that silk BR houndstooth top--it looks very sophisticated and versatile too. You have gotten some really nice things in pretty colors. Agree about the $15 sandals being a great buy! Let's see some WIWs with your new duds :).

I like the blue short sleeve cardi - it looks exactly like something I'd wear a lot.

I've been thrifting myself this week - picked up a bright green jcrew "pea coat" wool sweater with belt ( like new!), a pale pink Eileen Fischer long cardigan ( such spongy soft wool - love it, though I had to sew a tiny moth hole) and a couple cheetah print items - my current craze. It's like treasure hunting.

I love your stuff from Round One, especially the first blouse and the Eileen Fisher skirt. I don't think those pants say "I give up," although that is funny. It's all in how you style them! Cute red shoes from Round Two.

Thanks for sharing...

Those red flats are DIVINE! Angie counts red as a neutral, and I can see these working with everything I've seen so far - well done! They're beautiful...

You were naughty buying too small pants, Laura :), but they do look versatile. The tunic and cardi we'll need to see on - the cardi looks a tad short in the pic?

I like your perforated belt - whatever you're wearing underneath will show through the perforations so it will be instantly co-ordinated! The linen shirt looks lovely, too - I live in linen in the summer. On this type of shirt, changing out the buttons will give a whole different vibe....I don't wear much black, so I'd change them out for ivory shell buttons, but in a contrasty outfit the black buttons will look sharp and work well.

Can't wait to see some of these on!

Laura - you have been very busy!!!

Re the first round:

the silk top and black and white dress look dreamy for summer. In a recent thread discussing Una's black wedge sandals Angie talked about how dressy black can be for summer, and I can see these both filling that role. The red sandals ($15 - bargain - why do you say you paid too much?) will be lovely to make the dress 'dressy casual'. I can see the black pants working well for you with tunics - your long cardi pics were lovely, and I can see these becoming workhorses. The skirt and shorts we'll really have to see on to get an eye for the length and fit....looking forward to some wiws!

Well done on your haul - was it all from one store?

I totally love seeing what other people find when thrifting, so I hope others are interested in mine as well. I really haven’t been shopping, been avoiding the mall etc., but maybe that’s giving me good thrift store karma.

First round was a few weeks ago but everything was mostly summer-y so I’ve only worn one piece:
Silk houndstooth print top from BR - wore this last week and even with a sweater and a scarf I was cold all day, so it needs to wait for warmer weather. Love the print and the feel of the silk though.
Violet skirt from Eileen Fisher; this is a fun crinkled cotton texture that’s hard to see in the pic. It’s also that tea length that Angie was blogging about recently, and I”m not sure if it suits me, so I will have to take a pic and have y’all advise me about hemming or not.
Brown walking shorts for summer
Sleeveless knit print dress
Black stretch pants from Talbots - I fear that Stacy & Clinton would call these ‘i give up pants’ but they are a lovely knit RPL fabric and I’m hoping that they’ll fit me through quite a few more pounds of weight loss.
And red sandals from Cole Haan. I paid a bit too much for these really, but they’re comfy and cute.

Second round was yesterday:
Brown cord skirt
Blue perforated belt
Olive pants from BR - these are too small right now but hopefully not for long.
Ultraviolet cap-sleeve cardigan
Sea blue button-up shirt
White linen shirt - think I’ll replace the buttons on this
Brown tunic-y blouse, this has ties that I think I’ll remove as they fall a bit high on me
And red Steve Madden flats - apparently February is ‘find red shoes in the thrift store’ month for me.
