Big family, tight budget I started making them myself&nbsp;and found I really loved it. I kept making&nbsp;doll clothes&nbsp;even when I was too old to play with the doll anymore, and remember a b/w checked skirt with stitched down pleats I made for her once.&nbsp;The sewing bug stuck and I made a lot of my clothes when I was younger. A little shoulder alteration is easy-peasy for me but I realize for many fabbers it requires a trip to&nbsp; the tailor and it's not always easy to judge when it's going to work. I do this alteration OFTEN and it makes a huge difference. It was hugely popular in the earlier dress monsoon. I’m on the fence on tis one. I’m not sure whether the gathered section at the hip is distracting and pulls attention away from my face, or whether it’s very modern looking and looks great.&nbsp; &nbsp; What do you think?</p> <p>A <b>navy lined cotton dress </b>with pink/grey/white &nbsp;geometric embroidery on the yoke, front and back. The brand is Artisan NY. The fabric is actually a subtle navy/black stripe. The fit is good. Very casual, but with metallic sandals and bag could be just a bit more dressy. I’m on the fence about whether this reads a little too boho for me. </p>
