I need to try that mascara, I am a mascara junkie! My go-to has been Diorshow Blackout, but lately I have been rotating every other tube with "Yes They're Real" from Benefit. It's ok...but it's no Dior. I love ultra black lashes with a little fluff to them -- I wear glasses, so I usually like my lashes at least to stand out.

As for liners, I used to never wear liner (only dark eyeshadow as a liner) because pencils were too rough to get on. A few years ago I tried an Urban Decay 24/7 pencil and have never turned back. They glide like silk, and they really last 24/7 and then some. I have fallen asleep in Dior + 24/7 pencil, gotten up, washed *everything but eyes* and gone out for a 2nd day of wear.

LoveSarahDub, thanks so much! I've used cream liners in the past (not that you'd know it by looking at me now), so I'm confident I'd get back in the swing of it quickly.

In one of my outings to Sephorah, I tried a lip stain+gloss that stayed for HOURS. Unfortunately, I didn't write down.the name, and when I returmed to buy it, they'd rearranged the displays. Maybe I'd better cease all this stop-and-go makeup shopping and just go back to Chanel. OTOH, I could justify it back when I wore makeup every day and considered it a work-attire expense. These days, oh who am I kidding, I enjoy how I look in eyeliner and mascara even when it's not expected.

Thank you soo much for sharing! I'm a lash addict, so I'll definitely be checking this out! Plus, makeup is the perfect Chanel fix that doesn't take a life savings to score! :)

Amy, you mentioned eyeliner, and I happen to also be a liner addict, I admit I tried black eyeliner for the first time and it was OVER. I've been a winged-pinup ever since! I LOVE LOVE Sephora's Smoky Cream Liner potted eyeliner. Its staying power is phenomenal. I also use L'Oréal Infallible Lacquer Liner. It feels AMAZING and goes on SO smoothly, so you can layer it with no snags. Cream liners can be tricky since you have to apply it with a brush, but once you get the hang of it, you'll never go back!

Funny, back when I wore makeup, my Chanel-counter SA told me to buy Lancôme mascara, not Chanel. Everything else in Chanel's cosmetic and skin care line was wonderful, in my experience. Never tried the mascara, but it sounds like they might have improved the formula.

Any tips on eyeliner? Base that lasts?

I just purchased the LE VOLUME DE CHANEL last week and I love it. I am very picky when it comes to mascara and Clinique has always been my fave until now.

I have two MAC mascaras and they're not bad, but I find that the one that makes my eyelashes really thick and black also tends to develop clumps after a month or so, and then flakes off into my eyes. The other one is an all-day formulation, and it does what it's supposed to do -- no flaking! -- but it's kind of hard to get off.

I think I'm pretty picky about mascaras!

A long time ago I read that Chanel makes really good mascara. There aren't many Chanel counters in Vancouver, though, and I'd never got round to trying it. Finally I did. It is awesome! Rich black colour, no flaking, lasts all day, and is fairly easy to get off. And also, while I was there, I bought a fire-engine red lipstick -- my favourite colour, but the one I have (Estee Lauder) dries out my lips a bit. The Chanel one is way better, and stays on a long time, too. I will be going back for the raspberry colour.

Their makeup is pricey, but those two items were certainly worth it. Thought I'd share. :-)
