The things I have a tough time understanding irl are the same here—the indirect, veiled and passive/aggressivecomment, the refusal to explain oneself and crying wolf when asked to do so, the “popular” girls’ forced smiles…. Hard to deal with now as in high school, but now I’m more determined. The most surprising part is the assumption that I work that way too, leading to bizarre theories made up for how what I said could mean something entirely different from what I wrote.
