They zip up the back, with a flashy gold zipper. They are on trend with the laced look, but also timeless because of the ghillie style (my girls were all Highland dancers). They were Christian Siriano for Payless, and I would buy them again. I even got a Killer from Angie!</p> <p>The jeans cuffing idea I got from Lisap last spring.</p> <p>Since this outfit was so well received, now it's time for some deliberation. Because it actually doesn't feel like me at all. I have to cover my face in the photo to be able to "see" it objectively. It feels out of my comfort zone, or like I'm trying to hard.</p> <p>Trying to figure out where it comes from. I've worn the shoes happily before. I've done the cuffed jeans before. It must be the jacket. When I've worn it before, it's been in the traditional manner... with a skirt... and that was definitely not me. (That's when new acquaintances started to assume I was retired.) So off to the holding zone it went.</p> <p>I want to like this look. It has always appealed to me. I guess I'll have to endure it till the TTH factor wears off. Cue Angie's ensemble post, plus an evening out with friends that provided a rare opportunity for dressed-up casual.</p> <p>I didn't have anything non-dressy in a colourway that suited the jacket, so I opted for a plain black fitted T and jeans. Planned on black jeans, but at the last minute substituted these dark blue bootcuts, cuffed to simulate crops. (That look still hasn't appeared in my neck of the woods, and where I wear jeans perhaps twice a month, I have more than enough pairs already.)</p> <p>I wore this with white sneakers for errands and my walk earlier, then changed into ghillie flats for the evening.</p> <p>Pic was taken at end of day and I didn't touch up my lipstick. Also hair is overdue for a cut. It's now long enough to put up, so I think I'll do a chignon to go with my Easter hat tomorrow. </p>
