Lol - Una. I am such a non-analyst . Put it on and go is my motto - and I quickly figure out if I don't like it. I just can't with deliberating and assessing and fussing. Really, it's about whether WE like how we look and what we're wearing , right ? xo

Look at you, all nonchalantly wearing crops and tweed! I love it. Angie really has put the fear in me regarding hem lengths but it seems people are managing some margin of error here. Clearly the way to wear them is to just put them on and go. You are now my style heroine.

Both outfits are fantastic Lisa but I can see from your body language you are more comfortable in the second look.

I think the tee from outfit #2 would also look smashing with the jacket, trousers and boots of outfit #1.

Also, from the evidence here I see no need to up the accessory game but if that is an internal driver I am here to cheer you on xo

I like both renditions too! You are looking great!

I also have always had a weird fondness for ankle-baring shoe styles with cropped pants (not necessarily flared crops). I don't know why, maybe because it seems to put a little emphasis on slim ankles and feet, which are admittedly part of me I'd rather highlight than...others.

well, i don't know why you haven't wear the 1st jacket more often, IMO its just the thing to make any outfit workwear ready….ok, that being said, i love #1, but i would change the footwear to something visually lighter, but again, that's my personal preference, and this certainly works.

Oh. My. Goodness!. Lisa! I love both jackets--and your cropped flares with those shoes in outfit 1 are a wow (and an inspiration as I struggle with the idea of this style for me). Your flare placement looks just right. I love this black and white look for late winter-tween spring.

The second outfit is just awesome. That jacket is fab, and so Quintessential LisaP paired with the graphic tee. I think the collarless look is great on you in this particular piece--maybe it's the prints, or maybe your fabulous hair. I struggle with collarless myself, but have found that any problems can be resolved by the neckline on what i wear underneath.

Did I mention how fab your hair is looking?

Great looks but I love #2. It has the punk look that I love. Great T shirt. Great shoes. I tend to agree with Suz about shoes. I have booties and sandals but very few shoes. When would I wear shoes? The length of your pants looks fine to me. I seem to take in the whole picture and then look at details.
I tend not to worry about the length of my pants. I just cuff them and throw them on. They are all probably too long or too short.

Lisa, I like both outfits equally. There is a fab, modern vibe here that I love and think if very you. Do you think you are a minimalist? I know you love your jewelry (and i love your jewelry too) but I don't look at this outfits and think they 'need' anything extra. The Tweed jacket is quite a statement piece and I love that both outfits are quite minimal. Having said that they would look just as good accessorized otherwise

BTW the length of the pants looks good. I tend to like my 'cropped' pants longer than most

I love both looks on you! They are perfect and #1 is particularly sleek. But if you want to add some interest to the cream jacket over the black column, I agree with Firecracker's and Brooklyn's posts. What about styling a colorful, long, narrow scarf under the jacket unknotted, with the ends just hanging free? Maybe something with both black and white and colors would look nice. Or you could knot it at, or just under, sternum level. I'm also seeing it worn choker-style with the ends hanging down back under your jacket...

Oh! You could also cluster some colorful brooches that coordinate with each other on the jacket.

These are up there with my favorite outfits on you, smashing!

The cream jacket is great with your hair and looks good over a column of black with the necklace. The second outfit skews more casual, but is very chic, and I usually have a poison eye for logo tees, but not this one! The fit and proportions are great on both

If you wanted to add something, my first instincts would be to either add a bold bright lip (I'm really liking poppy or tomato red lips with stark black and white or navy and white outfits at the moment), or a bag that introduces a third color to the first outfit (many brights, pastels or non-black neutrals would work), maybe the second outfit also, though that has more going on in terms of pattern so a black bag works there.

Very stylish! I am another who struggles with collarless jackets but no 1 looks great on you. I like the cuff detail and the shaggy hems. Like Sharan I think I would add a printed scarf just to lift the blocks of colour or maybe a light coloured bag. No 2 is perfect. Very funky. I love it when something inexpensive really works out. It is extra satisfying!

How cute are you Love them both. I am in the same camp as you with the low vamp footwear and ankle pants, by the way. We are certainly the minority! I loooove to pair dainty pumps with my ankle pants. Slightly awkward and very pretty. I think the first look would be super with low vamp light colored footwear, too, though not sure if that will read as a little too sweet for you. I also want to see something BIG AND BOLD for the jewelry! Either a chunky mixed bib piece, or maybe several of those long pendants. Second outfit looks super as-is. Great contrast with the graphic tee, distressed jeans, harder-edged sandals, and pretty+classic jacket. REALLY good outfits!

I love both jackets on you and both outfits as well. For the first one, my tendency would be to add some pattern somewhere to the all-solid look, although it's a beautiful simply chic look as it is. I'm wondering about one of your fab scarves in addition to the necklace? Also, I would love to see you try the ivory jacket with olive sometime, too. Maybe that would help get it out of the closet more often.
The black and white jacket is dynamite with the graphic tee. No further accessories needed, in my opinion. Unless you want to add some kind of substantial bracelet (leather, studs, or heavy chain--that kind of thing)?

I really like 1 too. I think I would like another light piece in the look- maybe shoes or a bag? Or pearls? I think pointy black pumps would be great with this look if you have them? However I love the pieces as shown here and the light jacket over a column of colour is a flattering look and the footwear enhance this.

As for the angst, this can happen with "new-to-you" items, and the fear I may have put into our members about length and fit. I am Queen Pedantic about Length & Fit, so it's probably my reign of terror! But I'm quite harmless, and want everyone to have fun with fashion. Like you are right now with this look. And of course there is no harm is trying and analyzing things - that some members prefer to do (and enjoy!) more than others. I don't want us ever to take this all too seriously, though.

Love both the outfits and the kick crops look great on you. The jackets both look classy and I love that you put one with the graphic T, I have never been able to rock that look. I think that the shoes/sandals are really nice and work well with the jeans. I too wear boots or sandals very few pairs of everyday shoes ! It is a problem this time of year.

Thank you friends! Vivian - haven't managed to get out of the house yet - but when I do, with this outfit, I think it will be my trusty everyday RM bag . But now you have me thinking .....I don't really use bags to make an outfit.

I like #1 but I LOVE #2. The maximal girl in me loves the extra oomph from the color/texture of the jacket, the great notched neckline, the super-fab tee shirt, and the distressed jean. I want the entire look head-to-toe. Amazingly chic. What bag did you carry?

Wonderful outfits. I'm especially drawn to the graphic tee with the black and white tweed jacket.

haha - Suz and Angie - my frustration with all of the recent cropped flare postings was more to do with the amount of angst it seemed to be causing everyone. I like kick crops and flares as much as the next person, but I can't quite understand the pondering and worrying over length and fit and which ones to buy etc etc. I realize that mine are probably a bit too long, but I can't bring myself to care enough to alter them. The GAP ones were on sale (as everything always is) a week or two ago, so I picked up two pair without trying them on. Told myself if they fit, I'd keep them. They do, and I honestly didn't even look at the length until I remembered Angie's 2-4" above the ankle bone rule. Mine are most definitely not that short, but I'm not about to start hemming $40 jeans. And I actually like them this length!

Karie - Interesting point about the first jacket working better with a lower contrast pant/top. That would be worth trying in warmer weather - although I'm not a fan of an all pale look on me - makes me look like a marshmallow. :)

Great looks. Your older jacket appears right on trend! As for shoes, we've also discussed in the past that there's very little transitional footwear even available in Canada. Well, pumps are always around, but cute oxfords, loafers etc? Even when we have the same brands as U.S./UK fabbers, we don't get nearly the selection. Probably because of the climate! The fact that the sockless look has really dominated does not help, because even when it's dry enough in March/April to wear shoes, it's not often warm enough to go bare ankled.
