Trailer Park Boys fits into this "category" for me also. They helped me laugh at much of the insanity i lived through before i got clean/sober. Big Bang Theory is a good one. For vintage skit comedy laughs, The Kids in the Hall is a good one, I love them. Whose line is it is absolutely painfully funny, as in I would laugh til it hurt sometimes. Alan Tudyk is a comedic genius. He plays a being from another planet who crash landed on earth and has to disguise himself as a human, who happens to be a doctor in a small mountain town in Colorado. Sort of My Favorite Martian meets Northern Exposure, with a murder mystery thrown in too. It’s not a perfect show, but Tudyk makes me laugh out loud in every episode.
