I like it as is too. Those shades of blue/green really look good on you. Why not wear it as is for the summer and in fall if you want to layer, you could remove the collar then. Best of both worlds...

What a perfect outfit for a nice day with family. I love the necklace with the collar on the sweater. I think this could be a perfect summer in Seattle top as is and then once you get tired of it you could do the vest conversion. It looks perfect with the Halogen skirt.
I am liking the turquoise with your hair color!

You are such a treat for the eyes in these colors, Kari! I bet your grandfather and his friends loved seeing beautiful you. The sweater has definitely found a wonderful home.

I like this as is, but it would also be a cute sweater vest. You really can go either way here. Nice swap item!

I really like the sweater and love the way you've styled it. I agree with others that you could try leaving it as is for awhile and then altering it. If you don't wear it much in the next few months then alter it sooner rather than later.

Whatever you decide to do, that colour is just too fabulous for words on you. Absolutely brilliant for playing up your eyes and the red in your hair. And mustard is the perfect garnish.

What a beautiful outfit! I love the yellow with it all too.

What about rolling the sleeves and collar under then taking a pic to see how it'd look? I love it as-is but I'm a big fan of capped sleeves and argyle with collars.

In your original post I was a fan of removing the collar - but you're right it looks spectacular with that skirt - so I guess it comes down to a decision on how you would wear it the most. I also agree that if you take the collar off you'll need to take the sleeves off so it is truly a vest - it may not be worth the effort when it looks so great as is.

Oh, Kari, I think it's super cute as-is. Claire's idea is a good one, though. Wear it like this for awhile, and then alter it later on to give it new life.

Love the aquas and the yellows together!

I really would like to see it as an argyle sweater vest you could layer under-- i.e. over dresses, with your teal button down, in other combos. Just my 2 cents!

Okay, I take back everything I said on your other thread. I love it as is! Maybe you could wear it like this until you get really tired of it (like all summer at least) and then consider an alteration in the fall. You look amazing in these colors! Just look at your eyes pop with your pretty necklace! You are looking like a fab sweater girl in this outfit! DD15.5 and I just love it!!!

Today my parents and I visited my grandfather and his lady friend - there was a free concert in their assisted living community that we met up at, and had a great time listening to a great classical guitarist treating us to beautiful Mexican music.

I broke out my new turquoise argyle sweater from the Seattle clothing swap. (I'm on Team Wear and couldn't wait to try this out with my Halogen pencil skirt once I saw how great the colors looked together.) I paired it with my turquoise mutli-strand beaded necklace, yellow Fidji slingback lace-up pumps, and mustard Kate Spade handbag.

So the bottom line is that I'm waffling right now on what alterations I should make to the sweater - if anything. I feel like it would be more wearable if it were sleeveless than with the short cap sleeves. At first I was thinking about taking out the collar, but after wearing it I rather like it - but as a sleeveless garment, it would be a lot more wearable if it were also collarless.

Tough decisions! Perhaps I need to sleep on it and visit a tailor.

It was a gorgeous, sunny day and for once some natural light actually strayed into my living room, so I snapped a couple gratuitous self-portraits.
