Kristen, I think I am about the same height, and Angie had suggested before that I use actual dresses as tunics - since most of them are on the shorter side at the moment.
I have a shirt-like tunic from Esprit that is long enough, and they have a few similar ones, but they are probably too casual for you.

Kristen, I'm 5'10 and have the same issues you have mentioned. For tunic type tops, I've had the most luck with the sweater dress style. If you'd like a more shirt type top maybe you could look for a shirt-dress style? Is that what you're after?

I did a quick (very quick) search and came up with a few options from BCBG in the traditional tunic style so you might give them a look. I hope you are able to find something as this has been a point of frustration for me personally. Good luck!

Oh, Inge those are some lovely sweater dresses! I really like the AT and Express ones, and I've had my eye on that Donna Morgan ponte one at Nordstrom for a while.

For a tunic, though, I'd really like to look more like a shirt/top than a sweater, if that makes any sense. Maybe it's too late in the season, and I should try for spring, but in my mind, it should be patterned and should resemble an oversized top. But when I try that on in stores, they are too short on my body.

Kristen- have you tried looking for sweater dresses? Those might be the right length for you since most hit around the knee on a shorter person.

I know exactly what you are talking about Kristen! I don't think I'm particularly long-waisted, but I am tall too. How tall are you again, 5"7? Like you've already pointed out yourself, I think your best bet will be short dresses, since most tunics will invariably be on the short side.

I'm hoping this one will work out for me:
http://www.bluefly.com/Design-.....detail.fly

But you want brick-and-mortar stores. Hmm, would any of these work?

Kristen on "Tunic Issues"

Okay, I took the plunge and bought a pair of skinny ponte pants, which I like much better on me with boots than I did skinny jeans. But...I have nothing up top to wear them with! Based on the shape and curve of my pear hips-and-thighs area, I think I need to wear them with very-long tops in order to really achieve the look I like. All my bf sweaters stop just under my dupa or on my upper-thigh, but that cuts me off at exactly the wrong place with skinnies and boots.

So, it's gotta be a tunic. Laura65 and I came to a revelation while we were shopping the last time; because I am so tall and long-waisted, what is a long-length tunic on her barely reaches over my dupa on me, so I need a long, long tunic -- practically a mini-dress.

And I can't find any of those anywhere! I'd really like to find one in a brick-and-mortar store so I could try it on first, but so far Kohl's, Marshalls, Nordstrom, ATL and Target have all come up with zilch. I've wandered through INC at Macys a bit, but most of those look too hippie-style for me.

Suggestions? I'd love to find at least one tunic I actually liked!
