I literally used to love High waisted jeans. I found them about 10 years aga and had a great love affair with them and the wide leg. So fast forward to currently. With a 1 year old and hard earned stripes of a thicker rounded waist.

Ive found that the touck and haff tuck do not look good on me at all. A blazeer or vest will camoflauge but then what is the use of wearing them. So i do the untuck, the drop waist the blouse just underneath the waist look. I also like umdefined peplum looks. I can still leep the wideleg but im afraid at 44 i will not be getti g back to my live of the highwaist look.

I was going to say that shorter tops are a nice alternative to tucking. It can be hard to get the length just right but I’ve been stocking up on shorter tees and looking for a few slightly cropped buttoned shirts. Another trendy solution is a buttoned shirt, knotted at the bottom.

Sal, the topper is a good idea. I have been experimenting with shorter shirts, too, so I don't have to tuck—they have just about an inch and a half overlap with the waistband. I was wondering about throwing a belt over too.

Haha I have seen this before but I enjoyed the second viewing. Of course Mom jeans are more fashionable now - at the time of this it was low or mid rise skinnies!!

I do tuck occasionally. I judge it on the proportions of the outfit and sometimes try both. I can go wrong as I am not a model shape. But neither are most other people. Low contrast always makes it easier, or tucking and wearing a long cardigan or a blazer over the top breaks up the lines. And the right belt- on me not too skinny but not too wide either.

Can't view this in Canada, but I think I know what it is This , this, is why I don't tuck, and don't wear anything that hits at the waist. I'm sorry, but unless one has flat abs - just, no. I wish I had them, but I don't anymore, and nothing short of starving myself (literally) is going to make that happen. Some fashion trends are for the sleek and slim, and I know I'll get blow-back by saying so, but there it is.

SNL is also why: no denim skirts, polo shirts, pleated khaki pants , etc .Lol.

Tuck and suck dear girl!Tuck your shirt in ,suck your stomach in,good for the abdominals oh and don’t forget your posture.Standing up straight is the equivalent of losing 10lbs!Having said that you might not want to listen to me ,I quite liked those mom jeans they were like a pair I used to wear in the 80s.

Yes, I hear you. I purchased a pair of what I consider culottes with a tie waist this spring. I haven’t unveiled them IRL yet, but will need to tuck a shirt to make them work. I literally haven’t tucked anything in many years. Fingers crossed I can avoid showing up in a SNL skit.

HAH. I LOVE SNL.

I tuck and semi-tuck with high-waisted stuff - all the time, and today. I have a regular length waist and regular size bust, which evens things out. I enjoy the visual effect.

I remember the night that first played on SNL. Couldn’t decide whether to laugh or be upset ( sometime truth stings)
So .........Went out and bought new jeans! Not mom ones.
I too have the tuck vs untuck issue and the stomach thing. So now I split- knits untucked/ buttoned tucked ( but daughter tells me I should untuck these too.)

This is why I don’t tuck with high waisted anything! I’ve got a short waist, big boobs and big hips — it’s a really bad look on me. I think if your proportions are less extreme it can work nicely, but in general I think it’s a challenging look to pull off.

Hey! I am still learning how to deal with wide-legged pants and have long felt that tucking tops into skirts yields the best look. But how to do it when your belly isn't flat without veering into this? (Hopefully everyone gets a good laugh out of it... I do every time!)
