I didn't mean to imply that my husband is some kind of chauvinist. He's a great provider for our family and is very hands on with the kids (gets them ready for school and bathes/puts them to bed 5 out of 7 days a wk). He makes me breakfast every morning and is generally speaking, a good guy. If anything, the fact that I took such a throwaway comment to heart says a lot more about my insecurities than it does about his attitude. He loved me as much when I was 100kgs as he does now. That being said, I would love to make more of an effort during the wk, I just don't have the time right now. When the kids are in school past 12:45pm I'm sure things will change and I'll have the opportunity to spend a wee bit more time on my appearance. Till then, I will settle for a daily shower and the occasional night out where I get to glam myself up. Until now, glam has meant fit and flare lace dresses in a multitude of colours. This is really the first time I've gone for and decided to keep something that despite making me feel quite sexy, is leagues out of my comfort zone. The reason I was worried about it being too young for me is because it was picked out by a 23yr old who has a fabulous eye for fashion, but doesn't always remember that I am over a decade older than her. </p> <p>Now for jewellery. I was thinking some long earrings and a tennis bracelet, though a cuff is definitely more my style. As for my hair and makeup, I was thinking of doing what I normally do for a night out (picture attached). Hubbys birthday is on Thursday but we're headed out on the town on Saturday night. I am not suggesting anything about your relationship here--I certainly don't know you--but since we talk a lot on this forum about the language we use to discuss women, body issues, and clothing, I was thinking we might also apply that awareness to the language we use to describe clothing and relationships.
