I have a similar issue--most skinny jeans (and slim-legged pants) are too tight on my calves. I echo Janet on Lucky Brand Lolita, and Bijou on Mother the Looker, especially the high rise version.

My favourite skinny jeans are by Mother - the Looker jeans are the ones that I buy, as they fit well on the waist (where I often find gaping issues with other brands).
Unfortunately with jeans it does seem to be an issue of trial and error.

I have exactly this problem!! I do have muscular legs and calves, but a slimmer waist and smaller butt. I am a kind of an hourglass I guess. As the day goes on my muscles pull my jeans down and they sag.

I find a straight jean (slim also) better than a skinny. I have a pair of Wrangler Mid Twiggy's that seem to work okay too. Wearing a belt helps as well.

I have decided not to buy any more skinny's - I have three pairs that I will keep on wearing, but from now on straight leg or crop or flares or boyfriend style.

I like AG slim straights. They function as my skinnies but are way more comfortable on my legs.

My favorite Levi's jeans got discontinued, but I understand that the "replacement" is the 811 skinny. They are said to have the largest ratio between the hip and waist. For me, my old faves (Bold Curve Skinny) solved the problem that you are describing. They do grab on the calves, but I want them to be tight there, anyway, so they look tidy when worn with booties.

I have also had good luck with Gap jeans fitting my relatively straight hips and larger calves relative to my size. And I've basically given up on tight skinnies in favor of the straighter, more relaxed styles.

But also it varies so much by fabric, even within the same style. I swear I'd tried on five different versions of the J Brand Maria high-rise skinnies and they were all too tight, and then I found a pair in a thrift store a size smaller than my usual and they're perfect.

I have to buy jeans and pants that fit my butt and thighs and have the waist taken in by a tailor. Otherwise, I wind up looking like somebody's plumber...

Try the DL1961 Instasculpt Jeans. Amazing skinny jeans that don't bag out. Comes in several washes, regular and cropped and colors. The black is very dark rich black and the white a nice heavy fabric that doesn't show through (for white anyway). Available at Nordstroms.

Thank you for the suggestions! I will definitely try some straight leg instead and march myself to the Gap, ha ha!

I 2nd Joy's suggestion of trying a straight leg jean....many of them fit like a skinny, but maybe a better shape for you....and of course you can also fit a jean to your largest part and get the rest tailored.

Even though I am the total opposite of a straight up and down body type, I have this kind of issue with jeans. I have wide hips and big thighs, but no booty. So by the time I size up to accommodate the legs, the butt and waist are often too big or baggy. I find certain brands work well for me -- Lucky Brand (especially the Lolita cuts), Paige (sometimes), and AG. Try the slim straight and slim boyfriend cuts rather than the skinnies. Some Gap styles fit me well, and I've had success with BR in the past too.

There is bound to be jeans out there. I have the straight up and down problem but skinny calves. Gap has lots of styles of jeans. That might be a place to start. You might try straight or flared jeans rather than skinny. You might find a pair that fit you more like skinny jeans.

first time posting, so hopefully i don't miss any etiquette rules here - i am looking for opinions/ideas/suggestions for the best skinny jeans when you're issue is the legs are always too tight but then the bum and waist sag? seems to be skinny jeans are made for more of a triangle shape or ice cream cone as i say, ha ha - however, what if you're more straight up and down with some muscle? i am in no way super fit or have speed-skater quads, but i feel like that every time i try to put on skinny jeans I can't get them past my apparently meaty calves? lol! anyone else with this dilemma?
