Thanks staysfit! Fashion tape is a great idea, I haven't thought of it before. And no worries, not seeing any nitpicking at all. Loving the feedback, that's why I post the pictures. I originally posted that I wasn't sure if I wanted to wear the outfit, but the feedback is helping me zoom in on how I can make it more wearable.

Now I've worn the turtleneck with my peacoat, I don't feel the need for a scarf anymore. This one does a great job of hiding my tricky chin actually.

Well done. I think we are nit picking here so don't let this stop you from wearing a very lovely ensemble. I can see why there is a debate about tucking or untucking the top. I personally wouldn't add a belt, instead, I might try to wear a more prominent necklace to draw attention upwards away from the waistline. I like the pearls, but maybe something a little larger, or brighter would serve the purpose well. I wouldn't use a scarf.

One more suggestion is to use double sided fashion tape to hold the sweater in place untucked. It works. I use it all the time to keep V necks, wrap skirts, and short hems in check. I carry some with me in my purse.

Great outfit. Like KKards, I feel like the top should be untucked. But I get the issue with the top. Maybe a belt? I like the peacoat version too.

Kkards, thanks! I would prefer the untucked look too, it's just that this turtleneck is on the short side and tucking helps it stay in place. My RL polo pullover is hip length so that might work better.

Meanwhile I did wear a version of this outfit out yesterday but subbing in my h&m peacoat for the blazer. Not very equestrian but very comfy in blue, white and grey.

nice equestrian vibe...i love trying pieces in new ways
i'm wondering if you've tried the turtleneck untucked? for some reason, i'm just wanting to untuck it....i think its way the jacket and the jeans waist lines are hitting, i just seem to want the turtleneck to fill in.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments! bj1111 and BrieN, I would not unzip this blazer as the fine knit is not so flattering over this tummy. I use this turtleneck solely as a underlayer. I have a chunky red Ralph Lauren Polo pullover though that I would try this blazer with unzipped.

Instead of white pants, i might also try the same pair in navy, which should retain the preppy feel. These days, I'm not fond of a high contrast look, unless it is with jewel colors. I'm glad I'm doing these outifts as they are letting me figure out what my tastes are!

Also I think this look would be amazing with culottes but I haven't any winter-weight ones. Suz, counting on you to knock this one out of the park!

I think your color choices here are excellent. Very pulled together. I would also like to see how it looks with the jacket unzipped. I like it with the clean lines-minus a scarf, but that's just my taste...

I had my cashmere turtleneck from my last WIW hanging up on my bedroom, door, so that prompted me to try out Angie's equestrian ensemble. No riding jacket here so I used a tweedy-ish blazer instead and Old Navy pixie pants instead of cropped flares.

I think it works, and offers a good way to wear a blazer into late fall since it's already pretty cold here. I am not quite sure I would wear it quite like this as I think I am more boho-casual by nature. I think I would wear it with jeans and a scarf wrapped around the turtleneck so as not to draw attention to my double chin.
