(Sandals and sockless choices I still wear an 8 most of the time.) I add insoles to many shoes and boots to help fill in the extra room and provide more cushioning.</p> <p>I could probably wear these in an 8 if I only planned to wear very thin hosiery and no insoles, but the larger of my two sizes (the 8.5) is plenty comfortable without having too much extra room. Despite my jet lag, I tried them on and they are definitely better than the larger size from Nordstrom. Pics won’t really show a difference, but just judging from a quick try-on, I think these will be keepers. </p> <p>I had also ordered these Calvin Klein boots to try, but they didn’t make the grade for me — I love the color and style, but the material is plasticky and stiff, and they are not comfortable. I hate to miss out on the Farfetch deal, but Saks did have a promo so I get a $75 gift card with the purchase, which helps. I was just a little nervous about the 9 feeling a little too big. Even my 8.5s can feel a little generous at times if I don't wear thick enough socks. But going down to my usual 8 can make them feel a little pinchy with substantial socks in the winter, at least on my larger foot (my left is a little bigger than my right). A little bit edgy with the back plate detail. The pointy toe is good for currentness/edginess. I think the sole is beyond the trends (although others might know better than I do!).
