Have you tried Walking Cradles shoes? I need a double wide too and they are pretty reliable brand for me, especially the styles that have the little 'pillows' in the sole. Bobs sneakers are lightweight and fairly comfy. I empathize with you, till I tried WC I sent 90% of shoes back. Barkingdogs.com is a really good site and you can search using your own issues. Good luck!

I'm sorry the Sole Bliss didn't work out for you. I've been happy with my sneakers and boots but will look forward to your Calla report. I did notice that the Sole Bliss patent sneakers weren't as comfortable as the plain leather ones, and their flats were definitely not comfortable for me. Also, I ordered the taupe boots and they were a very soft leather made in Italy. The black boots were made in Spain I believe and were not quite as "giving". Good luck on finding the perfect width shoes!

I read anyasreviews.com and her corresponding IG quite regularly even though this isn't my issue - yet. She's a proponent of the barefoot shoe move toward healthy feet. Admittedly it's a leap stylistically for me, but the research and science behind it all are driving me closer toward at least trying a casual pair in the barefoot -type shoe construction .

Thanks, all! I will check out Anya’s Reviews! Angie, I did have a smashing Ilse Jacobsen rain boot a few years back (also white, in fact), but while wider than most mediums it still hurt my foot after awhile and in my new bunion phase doesn’t fit at all. I adore the look of those Tulip shoes. Just from the photo I’d be surprised if they’d work, though, as the toe box doesn’t appear any wider than the rest of the shoe; they just have that straight up-and-down look that usually means too narrow for me. Alas!

I am sometimes able to wear regular fit mules, though not for walking long distances. It helps if there is room for the foot to breathe, I guess, at the back of the shoe!

The Callas should arrive mostly in a few weeks, though one non-preorder pair may come sooner. I will keep in touch!

The struggle is real! I’m also 4” across my forefoot. Most wide shoes still taper through the toe box, so if you want shoes to fit your actual foot shape and not feel like they’re squeezing your toes, your best bet might be barefoot/minimalist brands. They aren’t all super thin-soled, nor are they all Vibram Five Fingers! Lots of good “normal” looking options these days. The blog https://anyasreviews.com/ is a good jumping off point.

It's disappointing that Sole Bliss shoes did not work out. I empathize :(

REALLY hope that the Calla shoes are a sucess. Good luck!

Have you tried the tulip sneaker, by any chance? A dear friend with feet similarly wide to you is having a good run with them.

Hi folks, After Angie’s post on SoleBliss and Calla, I am giving these brands a try. I have always had wide feet, but in middle age I now have a (small) bunion on one foot that puts me mostly in the WW or EE rather than W or D range. It’s become harder and harder to find stylish shoes that fit. Munro and Easy Spirit are two of the only brands that work at all. Boots and booties, a fall and winter staple, have been especially difficult.

I pre-ordered some new fall items from Calla and will report on them once they arrive. For now, this is about SoleBliss. Unfortunately, the report is not a good one. I had some suspicions about SoleBliss because I wrote them asking if their shoes would fit my feet at 4 inches across at widest point. Their answer went on about their fabulous “deep” toe box which I found odd—it’s not like my feet can fold up like an accordion and be accommodated by depth! But they have shoes and boots they call Extra Wide that they claim will fit wide feet with bunions. Some are quite attractive, though a bit less so in person (and these shoes are pricey). I was so excited by these Roxy white boots as it is almost impossible to find wide-fitting white boots. Despite being called “ivory,” and looking ivory on the site, they are more of a light pink. But more concerningly, neither they nor the Tilly black suede were actually “extra wide.” This was obvious immediately looking at them, and they were painful on my feet. So back they go, alas!

Now, Calla has an actual foot measurement guide and according to it, I am a mere wide in their eyes and not even an extra wide. So I am trying a few of their styles and as I say, will report back! Wish me luck. Their shoes are not cheap either, but if they are really well-fitting and stylish I will be thrilled. More soon!
