I tried the blue houndstooth sequin shirt too! I really liked it, but decided I wanted a wool sweater instead of cotton. I think either looks good on you, but I am a tad more partial to the blue.

I like the regular Sloans. I like the idea of the skinny ankle ones, but I hate fussing with cuffs like Suz.

I wish I felt qualified to help you but pant lengths are not my strong suit so I am reserving that for the experts but will watch here with interest.

I like the navy sequinned sweater on you best -- and if you get it, we are sweater twins! :-)

As for the pants, gosh, it is really tough to say. I like the Sloans in #2. But I also like the navy ones in #2 and if they are a bit too long they could always be hemmed. I'm not sure they are too long, actually -- if you like a bit of scrunch. I have several dressier pants with scrunch like that -- a bit of pooling at the bottom makes for a "fluid fit" look.

As for the regular ankle length Sloans, that is tricky. I have played with pants like this, too. The way they LOOK is not bad, to my eye. But do they pass the sit test? Mine at this length are forever getting stuck on the top of my booties and I have to do all kinds of adjustments to get them right when I stand up. They work better with pumps or shoes that have a low vamp.

The Martins are brilliant on you but it's nice to have some other non-denim options. The boot cuts look great! I never have much luck at BR but you certainly do!

Thanks, Kelly! I suspect that I should keep the bootcut trouser style Sloans and return the "slim fit ankle Sloans" (4-6). The length on those is sort of awkward (too long in the long length and too short for closed footwear in the regular ankle length). I am probably better off continuing to use Martins (#1) as my go-too slim pants since they seem to fit better.

I'm a little confused but I love the pants in 1 and 2. I think the pants in 1 are slim without being too slim. I love the more boot cut style in 2 and think you can wear them a titch longer too. I like the pants in 3 and the length looks good to me. It's hard to tell the length in 4 and 5 because of the dark footwear but I do think the blue pants in look a little on the short side. Love the grey sweatshirt. The fit looks fluid and seems like it would go with everything!

I posted earlier about trying some BR sloan slim ankle pants http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ooties-fau and sequin houndstooth sweatshirts http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....it-work-kr and having some questions about size/length/color. WIth the Sloans, I was looking for one or two pairs of work pants to add to my BR Martin skinnies (#1 is one of the current outfits with the Martins). I like the Martins but sometimes they feel too skinny or a bit too long/narrow at the bottom to work with booties. I was looking for a slightly less body-con fit and the length that might work well with booties; an added bonus would be belt loops for faux-tucking. I ordered several pairs of Sloan fit pants since they come in the same non-wool fabrication as the old Martins.

#1 - old Martin skinny pants. Still fit well but no belt loops.

#2 - Sloan trousers (different from Sloan slim fit ankle pants) in black. I folded the hems about an inch, otherwise they are too long. I think the fit is good. The only thing that puzzled me was how the legs sort of narrow down at the knee and flare out above and below but I guess that is a fairly classis bootcut trouser fit. It is not noticeable in person, only when I look at some of the photos. I am pretty sure these are keepers/

#3 - first Sloans (slim fit ankle pants) that I tried a week ago. These are dark navy, long length (I was hoping to be clever and get full length pants instead of ankle length). Too long.

#4, 5, and 6 - Sloan slim fit ankle pants, regular length (dark navy in 4 and 5, blue in 6). Awkward length or would it work? What about the fit?

I also was able to track down the sequin sweatshirt in navy size M - previously it looked like M fit better than S but M was only available in grey. What are your thoughts on color (photo 4) - navy or grey?
