As you say, I do think it is a more current look. Natalie -- still waffling but leaning toward purple. I love the orange color, but the dress doesn't feel like it fits as well as the purple on me. But then I prefer the suede ones with the dress, since the color matches your skin tone better. I think the smooth ones go better with pants because the higher heel helps continue the shape of the pant leg... if that makes sense at all. I agree with Refugee that they'll look great with boot legs, too (love a high heel with bootlegs vs. a mid heel). If you wear them with a long boot cut with just the toe peaking they will look like completely different boots than if you wear them with straight legs (as pictured) with the lacing detail showing. With the pants, I can't quite figure out why I like them better, but with the dress, they really show off your slender ankles and lovely calves. Which pair do you think works better with pants and dresses? I primarily intend to wear them with pants, so if one pair works better with pants, let me know! The first pair are Dolce Vita Aisha boot and the second are the Dolce Vita Jasper boot (taller one). Thanks again for your help! P.S. Ignore the grey striped shirt with those pants -- I just threw the pants on because I wanted to see how they work with the boots!
