Thanks Angie. I don't think I have the right pieces to pair with the cardigan and I probably cannot build a look around it now. I'm going to have to look for some other items in that lemon yellow.

Thanks everyone! Hmmm, I'm not quite sure. I do like the color but to be honest, I don't know how to wear it and I am afraid it would become a closet orphan. In the picture, I am wearing it with bootcut jeans which is not really a great pairing. I don't currently own any skinny or straight-leg jeans (my Uniqlo ones from last summer are too big). Plus, as I mentioned in the thread on leggings, I don't know if the skinny on the bottom silhouette is the best for me since it emphasizes my inverted triangle figure - especially when wearing sandals or flats like I would in the summer. It's really too long to wear with a pencil skirt (I own a black one as well as couple of denim ones). A casual dress sounds like a good idea but I haven't found one yet. Am I just lacking imagination? What else could I wear it with for summer? Clamdiggers?

I’ve gone into ORBIT with the colour! It’s killer on you. You wear this cardi really well, Shana. I like it best partially buttoned. How do you feel?

I think it look very flattering on you, both the shape and the color! I also like the part buttoned version the best, and please do try a skinny belt with you.

I also a 'summer' and I also do find this particular shade of yellow flattering on myself ( i used to stay away from yellow in general), but it is very difficult to find - most yellows I see are depper and warmer. I am really hoping for a pretty knitted top in this color.

I think this looks very flattering on you, Shana! As you already know from previous comments, the unbuttoned and buttoned-part-way look best. (I think of this as similar to a button-down shirt, which would also look most flattering without having every single button fastened.)

And yes, a skinny belt would be a good thing to try. Hmm -- a belt would be a great place to use a color that a winter "shouldn't" wear, since it's away from your face. I don't know what those colors are, but if any of them appeal to you, it would be worth a try.

I agree with Maya that a belt gets a bit uncomfortable in certain situations, and it doesn't seem to matter whether or not you feel you are carrying any extra weight around your middle. You can always pull it off and stash it in your purse if it gets really bad...

I like the length. When you're short-waisted I think longer tops look better in general. Agree with everyone else that it looks best in an X formation, my second favorite being unbuttoned. But the X is the best by far, and also happens to be the way I button mine.

Also, although I too generally shy away from belts, I actually like mine belted with a thin belt in the same color as the cardi. Mine is red and I have a red fake patent belt that I wear with it. Honestly I have a bit of trouble with it though. It isn't very comfortable, especially after I eat By the end of the day I usually get fed up and take it off. But it definitely looks good.

I'm actually very tempted now. I don't think there is a conveniently located J Crew outlet anywhere near me though.

Thanks for the feedback ladies. According to "Color Me Beautiful" (see my post below), lemon yellow is supposed to be a good color for me so I figured I would try it. It's funny, my whole life I have avoided yellow until last year (inspired by Angie of course) and I'm actually finding that it works so much better than I thought. Whoa there, Shiny, I just talked myself into trying the longer cardi - I don't know if I am ready to add a belt to the mix!!LOL!!

For anyone who is interested, this cardigan is at the J Crew outlet - I think they are $29.99 or $19.99 and they had a bunch of colors (navy, a pewter grey, ivory etc). And they are definitely summer weight - very light.

P.S.- Oh, the pooch is nicely contained in my jeans in these pictures. I'm going to be posting another set with some AT tops that I tried on the same day and you'll see it emerge there...

I love the color on you! I do think it might look a little better shorter. I know the other girls disagreed and I am certainly no expert, but I felt like the length visual make your legs look short.

Also, where the heck is the pooch speak of? I tried, but couldn't find it anywhere!

That yellow is fantastic on you! You look wonderful. I like it buttoned in the middle best or unbuttoned but with a belt. Shiny is right about the weight of the cardi. It's a weight you can use in the summer airconditioning too.

I envy you that you can wear yellow so well. I think this look does work on you. The length looks right to me, and what I like best is the weight of it. I prefer it unbuttoned best, buttoned a little is second best. I think this would look totally fab with a belt. I also think you should try it over a dress. I suspect you will love love love it over a dress. Try it with a long neckace. It does give you an elongating effect overall.

P.s. I do not see any tummy pooch!

O.K. yesterday, I decided to try the boyfriend cardi and wanted to get some feedback from the experts. I don't know if I can pull it off - my feeling has always been that it seems to look better on taller or thinner people. Unfortunately, this cardigan is not petite sized so the length is a bit longer than is best. Perhaps I would have better luck with a petite. Oh and ignore the tummy pooch - trying on clothes after wolfing down three slices of pizza was probably not the best idea...
