They are cropped which can be a problem for me, but I see you embrace the cropped silhouette much more readily than I do. If you try them, you may want a size down from your usual so they’re not baggy. I think I will go ahead and try these jeans as they are on sale secondhand via ThredUp (hence why I have to make a quick decision). They are returnable if they don’t work, luckily. It can be hard to tell with ThredUp product photos, so I compared the inseam measurement to several others. They have the inseam of crop flares, but I’m also not very tall, so it remains to be seen whether they hit at an odd length!</p> <p>I want to like wearing slim boyfriend but have yet to find any that don’t feel too tomboy to me. I’ve learned that I prefer my masculine elements in tops. As far as full-length flares and wide legs - I know they’re back, but I’m not ready! The early 2000s were my teen years. In prepping my closet for spring I’ve been trying on all my jeans (I confess to wearing mostly leggings all winter). A couple months ago I noticed a hole in my jeans capsule and purchased a pair of Levi’s high rise Wedgie jeans on super sale at TJMaxx (pic #1). I like them a lot in theory, but I don’t think I like them on me. I think they’re a size too big, and the button fly only emphasizes that. I also think they’re too casual/tomboy, and that I feel better in more feminine jeans styles. So back to the drawing board. I realized I don’t feel very current after years of skinny jeans and want something a little trendier. Of the spring denim trends Angie shared, I like: <ul> <li>High rise</li> <li>Cuffed hem</li> <li>Wide crop</li> <li>Sailor waist</li> <li>Cropped flare</li> </ul> I have high rise wide leg black jeans and high rise white cropped jeans with split hem (pics 2 &amp; 3). Not pictured are a pair of light wash mid rise wide leg cutoff Levi’s from the 90s (not a perfect fit, but $1 at a yard sale so they work for now) and a pair of high rise cropped dark wash skinny Levi’s. Those are my “classics” so I’d like to add one updated pair. I usually cuff the Levi’s I have, so the cuffed hem trend might be covered. Wide crop is covered by the black pair. I like sailor a lot, but I might save that for when I can try on in stores because it seems trickiest. That leaves cropped flares.<div><br /></div><div>Current contender: the Veronica Beard jeans (pics 4 &amp; 5). Kick crops work well for me; if they’re not the right length I don’t mind cutting them shorter. The pockets seem fun and different from what I already have. But I’m curious what you all think: go for cropped flares, or do you suggest a different denim trend? If you like the flares, do you like this pair? And has anyone tried Veronica Beard denim?
