As a petite, I find I get bunching in the thigh area with some cuts of regular pants when the length from the crotch to the knee is longer than my body mashrements.

I agree with Lisa. Without seeing more detail as to where the creases/folds are coming from, it looks like you may need a higher rise. Try moving them down on your hips 1-2" and see if you still have the same issue.

Robin, suntiger, and kkards - I may have to do that. Maybe first I'll try basting a quick line up the offending area just to see what it looks like...

Lisa, you're probably right that these were just a poor fit in the first place. I'll check out Aritzia, for sure. I am enjoying the higher rise on some jeans I bought recently and should try that too in a dressier pant.

Angie and Taylor, the fabric content is 54% wool, 44% poly, 2% spandex. Is that the problem? When I bought the trousers (in a rush and definitely not being PPP) to plug a seriously gaping hole in my conference capsule, I knew that the fit on the thigh wasn't great, but I definitely didn't notice the "pouches/balls" effect.

Hmmm ..what’s is the fabric content ? As Angie mentioned that may be the culprit . I have seen Cotten pants do similar things if they are too stiff.

Did they fit like that when you bought them? If not - it's probably a fabric issue.

Pants are really hard to fit in general! I'd say take them to a tailor for an estimate, then decide if you want to invest in those or use the money for a different pair.

To my eye, this is more of a rise/fit issue than anything . Have you tried higher-rise pants, or perhaps a half-elastic waist pant that gives you more options for where the pants sit on your hips and waist? Aritizia does this brilliantly with their pants. (one example)

Yes that would bother me too. I have to size up because of my waist and get odd thigh fit sometimes. You could try taking in that seam to see what it would do. Do you sew or have a seamstress you can have look at it?

First of all, hi to everyone. Despite my best intentions to participate in the forum, I’ve become a total lurker. Thanks in advance for your advice.

I bought these trousers a couple months back and have worn them several times, but they have the strangest fit issue. The fabric balls up at my inner thighs, to the extent that my husband made a somewhat mortifying comment about it, haha! It may be a bit difficult to see in the pictures.

Anyway, like many of you, I have so much trouble buying trousers that fit. My calves are proportionally larger than my thighs and waist, so I have to size up. Most often the issue is that fabric bunches or folds on the outer thigh - I have resigned myself to that look.

Does anyone know if the inner thigh issue would be an easy fix? I’ve considered both taking them in at the seam in that area or, alternatively, lettiing out a bit from the knee to the lower leg so that everything is a bit looser. What do you think?

Maybe it would be better to look elsewhere for trousers (these are BR), but our budget would be better off if I can make these work.

Apologies for the faces I’m pulling in the photos!
