She said the same thing as you, that she wouldn't have usually done short-over-long. She thought maybe the reason it works is that the tunic has a waist seam, which hits right about where the cardigan nips in. I haven't come up with a solution. I have been on the verge of giving them away, because I just can't wear them as long as I want to. But I keep thinking the elastic will stretch out, or I will come up with some brilliant idea about lengthening the elastic straps. That red is especially smashing on you (as is your top.)&nbsp;&nbsp;I'm always unsure about pairing a short layer over a long but it really works well for you in 6. She found a taupe cardigan by Nic &amp; Zoe to layer over a couple of tunics that I don't wear as often as I'd like, because I didn't seem to have the right layering pieces to keep warm! <br /><br />She had me try a short black cardigan over one of the tunics, too, which I thought was a great idea; I had a black cardigan at home. I did buy two of the short, 3/4-sleeve cardigans in fun colors, though: orange--a color I wanted to add just a touch of to my Spring wardrobe-- and cobalt, a color I like but don't have a lot of. The cobalt one goes with a gorgeous scarf I also bought yesterday. <br /><br />Here are the photos:<br /><br />1&amp;2: taupe sweater (Nic &amp; Zoe) over peasant tunic (made by me; fabric is a soft, floaty sweatery knit), charcoal skinnies (Halogen), graphite booties (Paul Green)<br /><br />3&amp;4: taupe sweater (Nic &amp; Zoe) over diagonal-layer tie-dye print tunic (made by me), black leggings, and graphite booties (Paul Green)<br /><br />5: orange 3/4-sleeve cardi (Halogen) over mixed-print tee (made by me), Paige Skyline straight-leg jeans, black ballet flats (Gentle Souls)<br /><br />6: peasant tunic (same as in 1&amp;2), paired with black cardi (Banana Republic, several seasons ago), Paige Skyline straight-leg jeans, black ballet flats (AGL)<br /><br />7: cobalt 3/4-sleeve cardi (Halogen), silk/viscose scarf/wrap <br /><br />I'm happy with how I did on my shopping trip! Not sure how I'll wear the scarf/wrap. A lot of my scarves go under-utilized, despite how beautiful I find them. Any suggestions? <br /><br />Thanks for looking. Thoughts and comments welcome! <br />
