Your capsule seems about right-sized to me--I don't really think about laundry midtrip until it's closer to 2 weeks, but having a clean shirt to wear most days, except for maybe a couple, sounds good to me, as does 2-3 days for each of the bottoms (I'm counting dresses as both). I didn't bring it for dressy occasions, but because it's my breeziest summer dress and I knew we'd see temps above 100° coming back down through the central valley. I think we were lucky in our trip timing, as we came back to an LA with a surging COVID case rate and a newly-reinstated mask mandate. Time to batten down the hatches again, at least for a bit.</p> <p><b>celia,&nbsp;</b>I'm generally a very light packer, and even on this trip, everything but the shoes would have fit in a carry-on bag. Your capsule wardrobe seems very harmonious with the landscape and I am happy that it served you very well.<br />I think sometimes we under pack on the illusion that we will wash clothes or can do with the same shoes for the entire trip but in reality it feels so nice to put a clean pair of pants or a clean top. We spent so much time in the car that stuff like that would have just gotten in the way. I wasn't really thinking about variety, either. I was glad to have clothing that was functional and easy to mix and match without searching for specific pieces each morning.</p> <p><b>bj1111,&nbsp;</b>right? I thought it was a huge amount of clothing too, but summer clothes are so lightweight that it all fit in the one small bag. I threw shoes in a separate drawstring bag and we had room to spare in the trunk.</p> <p><b>Sal,&nbsp;</b>spending time with friends was, hands-down, the best part of the trip. It's been so long since we've been able to socialize with anyone other than each other, it just felt amazing.</p> <p><b>Aquamarine,&nbsp;</b>I could have spent a week in just about every place we passed through!</p> <p><b>shevia,</b>&nbsp;<b>&nbsp;</b>it was hard to pick just a few pics, so I leaned towards the ones that actually had me in them. There were so many amazing sights, I'm still processing it all.</p> <p><b>MsMaven,&nbsp;</b>we stopped for lunch in Eureka, and to take pictures of this gorgeous house, which is supposedly "the most photographed house in America." All those trash cans would be bear-proofed now!
