(I was told that I have 'nice gums' LOL!). </p> <p>On my list of things to do was a visit to the Textile Museum of Canada (TMC) to see 'Artistry in Silk - The Kimono of Ichiku Kubota' before it moves on later this month. Itchiku Kubota (1917-2003) was a revolutionary fiber artist who developed a modern version of tsujigahana (dye resist, embellishment, embroidery, ink painting, gilding on silk). The TMC is a little hole in the wall place on a downtown side street, but the exhibit was glorious! 41 kimono displayed!</p> <p>#1 - warm day (finally!)<br /> Navy lace tank - Uniqlo<br /> Beige wide leg crops - Uniqlo<br /> Ikat jean jacket - Kenneth Cole/Winners<br /> Blue leather flats - Jessica/Sears<br /> Striped bag - Fossil</p> <p>(The jacket is an oldie but goodie - 5+ years old. I hemmed the trousers 2 inches - does it look like I got the length right?)</p> <p>#2 the spring thaw begins<br /> #3 spring air approaching snowy mountains<br /> #4 a tender cool dawn<br /> #5 bands of blazing flowers</p> <p>(Photos were allowed, but touching wasn't. Some of the kimono were hung away from the wall and you could see that the front and the interior were every bit as lovely as the back.)</p> <p>Thanks for looking! </p>
