Oh I use the men's product all the time when I do my own tinting (on my eyebrows). Super easy, but also doesn't last as long as having a pro doing it does, for some reason. I've had the same box of colour product going for a few years now, that's how little product it takes!

SuzyQ2, I have heard that Just for Men works well on eyebrows. I might try it someday.
I go to a salon to get my brows tinted, groomed, and my eyelashes tinted regularly. I find it lasts about two to three weeks. It doesn't matter where I go. The tint fades faster than I would like.
I go for a manicure a couple of times a year. I used to go for pedicures, but now I go to a foot nurse once a month.

Please don't laugh but I discovered that I can use "Just for men, Mustache and Beard" coloring on my eyebrows. A box runs a bit over 10 dollars and the first one lasted a year. It comes with two tubes and I place a couple drops of each, color and activator, in a dixie cup, mix and apply to my brows. I don't use the included brush, I use a stiff, short bristle eyeliner brush. It can help to use a little vasaline on the skin above and below the hair. I set a timer for 4 minutes and wash it off. Don't be afraid if at the 4 minute mark you look a bit like grouch marx, it's not that dark when you wash it off. I'm a redhead who at 67 still has mostly red hair but the eyebrows lighten on the tails. I use the medium brown and seems to match perfectly. For the faint at heart I guess you could start at 3 minutes.

It's not an invasive procedure at all, and not much different from having an aesthetician touch your face during a facial. Eyes are closed, and the bottom lashes are not involved. It's quite fast and pleasant in fact!

Janet, you probably can find lash lift tutorials on YouTube. Easier to see than to explain. Basically, it’s a perm for eyelashes. Eyes kept closed during the procedure, it might make you feel safer.

Well, I’m intrigued now. I just got home from a trip and it would have been nice to leave some makeup at home. I feel so much more finished and like myself with brows gently filled in and lashes enhanced. I’m very touchy about anyone getting near my eyes though so I may not be a good candidate for the lash procedure — any input on how that works?

I think that doing your hair, mani, pedi and some eyebrows/lashes definition is all what you need to look polished during a vacation. I've often fantasized about getting a tanning bed before leaving but never did it. This last time I had a mani and a pedi, had no time to go to the hairdresser. Also would have liked to have my eyebrows laminated (they turn out well) but again, had no time. Laminating and curling my lashes is completely useless. They are so short and sparse that the result is almost invisible.

Wow, I did not know about these procedures, either. My own brows and lashes are so pale and sparse that I doubt they'd work -- though tinting does make a difference, the few times I've done it.

Before my last trip I cut my hair and dyed it blue!

But that's not my usual. I like to get my hair cut if I can or it needs it, and I make sure my nails are done. And that's about it! Other than packing, that is.

It was fun doing the blue hair thing. It really only lasted 3 weeks, too. 4 at the most....

LJP, the lash lift last longer than the brow lamination. I’ve done brows twice and probably will not do it again for cost v lasting time reasons. But it is definitely fun thing to do.

Well I'm a little obsessed with eyebrows and how they are groomed, so it's a natural fit for me , lol. But I have to say I am LOVING the lash lift results too and if it lasts a decent amount of time , I'll consider adding it to my routine. Can get away without mascara (or any eye makeup for that matter) but a touch of mascara and eyeshadow is so pretty. Love, love , love it.

Last year, I did semi permanent make-up and di my eyebrow and eyeliner. My skin is ok, so nowadays I only need to add mascara and a bronzer or blush. For me, this has been a game changer and is has helped me keep a "curated look" with no efforts. I was tired to be told that I looked tired..
I am travelling quite a lot and have long stays sat my mum to help her, so I am trying to look for any shortcuts.....

@Sal - I get my eyebrows and eyelashes tinted monthly (have not gone as far as the lamination or eyelash lift), but even that makes a world of difference in not making me look washed out, pop on an SPF tinted moisturiser and some lip balm and I'm good to go out and about without make-up.

I pay about the same as Irina , and also in a posh salon . I need to know who is working on my face , and to know where they were trained etc . Brow tint and lamination doesn’t last more than about 6 weeks on me , which is why I don’t do it often . Haven’t had lashes done in a few years so don’t recall - hoping it’s a little longer .

Brow and lashes lift lasts for me about 2 months. I tint lashes sometimes and skip the brows (I don’t like them too dark on my pale face). I think the results depend on your lashes and brows, how dark, long or sparse they are. When I get eyelashes curl, I ask for natural look. My lashes are long and look dramatic even with a small lift. After the treatment, I skip mascara on a daily basis.

Eyelashes lift and tint costs me about $100 CAN without tips. I do mine in a posh salon and probably could save $15-20 if I go to a budget friendly place but I’m scared to try other places.

Love brow lamination and eyelashes curl. But I agree with you, it’s $$$. I’ve done it a few times for vacations and it worked really well. I also like that I look awake on a beach I will probably do eyelashes for our next trip.
I do manicures and pedicures for trips. I don’t often care with a hair cut, not that important to me.
I keep a travel size skin, scent and hair care collection. Very important since I do carry on bags only. I’m on a lookout for mini size products through a year. Some hotels offer shower products but I like to take mine especially when it comes to hair.

Other than that, I think I’m rather casual about it. I’m not into made up and polished look.

Trip prep- aesthetics and personal care:

I don't travel much at all anymore, and I'm out of practice with pre-trip/vacation prep. It used to be all about a mani/pedi, a waxing and a haircut , but those were business trip prep things .

One thing I did that I'm patting myself on the back for doing prior to my recent week at the lake was a brow tint/lamination, and an eyelash lift and tint. The only makeup -related item I took with me was a tinted moisturizer (Jones Road) and a tinted lipbalm/gloss (Summer Fridays) and it was absolutely freeing. I looked polished yet not made-up, and best of all...wide awake! I've done both treatments a few times over the years, but they are admittedly a splurge as they are a little $$ for how long they last. I'll definitely be doing this next time I'm headed anywhere ! My hair was a bit of a disaster because of the different water, but I just ignored it and wore a hat half the time .

Any tips and tricks that you like to do in prep for a vacation?
