Hm. I'm not wild about the straps. Too much going on.

Yeah, quality is a major concern with the AA. I'd love to find a good quality version of the AA about 2 inches longer, maybe in a cotton/linen blend. Not asking much, right?

Ah, I forgot about the romper - excited for that one, actually!

It just occurred to me that the AA one might be see-through, from what I know of their fabrics. Hem rolling could be an issue, too, and make it even shorter... hard to tell all this, though.

Joy, funny, I find the high contrast of the Ross dress distractingly dizzying! Hmm.
The AA dress is 32 inches long. About one inch shorter than my mod shift dress. I'm 5'4" so I think it would work.

Rae, I'm glad you see what I see. Sometimes I question what I think I see in the mirror lol.
I am waiting on the blue one until after I try on my romper and decide whether I'm keeping it first. I feel a stripe tee shirt dress offers me more variety and is more casual, therefore more likely to be worn on a day to day basis running errands and bopping around the house.

The AA dress looks terribly short...more of a tunic, but maybe it's on a tall model. I really like the Ross dress from the photo. The AA dress doesn't look like it has enough contrast to keep from washing you out. Of course it's hard to tell fabric quality from photos.

Yeah, I'm not in love with this one. :T

Are you still going to try the blue one, too?

I stopped into Ross and tried this on for size to compare with the AA tee shirt dress I have my eye on. (pics 3 & 4)
I know many of you expressed no love for AA as a company and it's policies, but I still think I prefer the cut and color of their dress to this one. The cowl falls toward the back a bit, I find the elastic straps kinda cheap looking, and I think the stripes are dizzying in this scale and in the high contrast of black and white. I am trying to find an alternative! If anyone has any leads to share, I'm open to suggestions.
(they are both under $15, so same price point).
