My two cents on the sneakers in #3: My preference would be for a different style of sneaker (or a sleeker boot or other pointy-toed shoe), or perhaps a different shirt/belt combo with those particular sneakers. </p> <p>ETA: Some examples of what I mean, taken from a slide show on how to style baggy cargo pants (I know your black pants aren't cargo pants per se, but they are a similar silhouette). And not just because of all the holiday eating. </p> <p>One of my favorite new things are these Sanctuary cargo pants I got on a whim right before our holiday travels. Like the new parachute pants I got (similar to the Zara ones I originally shared), it’s easy to layer a warm layer underneath for cold weather, but they’re comfy for warmer temps too. They have ease without being overly baggy at the waist and high hip, which I usually have trouble finding. I’ve been sick during the new year and this is my lazy on the mend day so mulling over my clothes. I did say I had too many pants but I managed to pick up a couple of pairs of trousers during the Christmas hunt and they are a looser more comfortable fit which I’m wanting to move to.<br /> 1. Boyfriend jeans. These are black and I wanted smart jeans to wear with my black blazers.<br /> Pic 1 worn with my black Birkenstocks and summer blouse when I had to go out on some errands.<br /> Pic 2 with a blazer, tshirt and docs ( how I would wear to work) and I’m going to try with combat boots as well.<br /> 2-3 I picked these up new (tag still on) at a thrift shop but they were incredibly long obviously for a very tall person so I hemmed them. They are a heavier cotton mix with very thin stripes. I’m going to wear with sneakers. Any other ideas? Do you think I need less athletic sneakers? </p>
