Burgundy! I'll probably pull the trigger on that one tomorrow. I have an asymmetrical zip trench in another color and I really like the style. I find trenches boring so richer colors and details like that zipper work for me.

+1 for Burgundy. If you thought the double breasted was too classic, I think the tan will read too classic too over time. (Plus I always hear the inspector gadget theme song in my head while trying on tan jackets.)

I'd keep the burgundy for fall/winter and then look for either a navy for winter/spring or something lighter like a blush or winter white.

Another vote for the burgundy!!! If you have pants, skirts, and dresses that would look really terrible showing under the burgundy, then consider the tan as a second coat. I'm thinking a wine/burgundy layer underneath that looks really *off* when combined with the coat's color even though both colors look great on you.

The burgundy looks great on you but I think it's more appropriate for fall and winter, due to the color. I think the tan is very nice for a classic trench for spring and summer. If you love and can keep both, do. If you think you can improve on the tan for the warmer months, keep looking. There are plenty classic tan trenches around.

I'm in the minority here; I think the tan looks very polished on you. To me, it's a little more of a menswear look, and quite classic and crisp looking. The burgundy is very pretty on you, and it looks like a softer style, though still tailored. So I could see reasons to keep both. Though it's worth thinking about what outfits you would wear the tan but not the burgundy, because if there aren't that many, then you might just wear the burgundy one all the time!

Wow! I love the burgundy! Plus, it has some sentimental value to me as a color. It was my DD's favorite color when she was a toddler/child. You may wonder, as did I, what kind of kid loves burgundy? I now know the answer is a future artist/painter! I happen to like the asymmetrical zipper. This is classic with a twist. You won't look like everyone else who is wearing a trench. You will be able to find your coat on a rack at a conference.

I like the burgundy much better with your skin and hair, very becoming.

The tan has A LOT going on at the shoulder line - flaps and buttons and big hooks at the neck, wide collar and what might be big flaps from a hood? IDK but it's a lot.

Well I love trench coats so I say keep both of them if you will wear them. If you have to make a choice then go with the burgundy. It is such a great colour on you. I only have one trench coat that doesn't get much action because of our climate but when I do wear it I feel like a Secret Detective.

Well, I'm torn. The burgundy definitely wins for color, but... I like the cut of the tan better as it looks more polished (but I AM a classic trench coat fan at heart though and would probably like a classic double breasted shape best of all). I almost never like trenches with zipper closures because I think it makes them look sportier and more casual.... but if you prefer a sportier or less polished style it definitely works!

Both these trenches arrived yesterday. I had been craving a classic trench for quite a while and ordered a double breasted London fog that I liked, but kept the tags on wIting for NAS. After a couple of weeks, the double breasted trench started seeming too classic and I decided I was almost certain to return it. NAS presented several lovely trenches I ordered. The tan one is similar to the other London fog, but single breasted, which tends to be a little more flattering on me. The burgundy is one of my best colors and I'm a fool for asymetrical zips, so I got it too.

When I opened my boxes yesterday I'd already decided the more classic look was wrong for me, so I didn't even try on the London Fog and I fell in love with the burgundy. Today, while packing up my returns, I noticed how the LF is a warmer, nuttier color than my previous LF and I decided to try it on. And I quite like it!

So now I'm torn. I wear trenches spring and fall, occasionally in summer and half the winter. I can justify both, if it makes sense. Also, the burgundy one was lust at first sight, but I know I'll be ready for a new fun colorful trench in 2 years tops.

Over to you! Keep both? Keep one? Stew on it longer?
