It IS a Burberry.

But I'm wondering--if beige doesn't work for so many people (or at least, I get that impression from reading about other YLFers finding a good beige), then why is it so popular?

Is this a Burberry? Net a porter is blocked on my work browser.
Ditto on what Suz said if it is!

Interesting. It sounds as if you tend to wear cool based colours more often. But they can work well with some beiges or stones. And Sammi's right; it's SO classic. If your heart sings for this, you should go for it.

Hmm, can't do photos at this instant, but I would wear this with colour near my face--I have burgundy glasses, teal and wine scarves, colourful tops (paisley, polka dot, pink, blue and purple t-shits,, although these would be hidden from view if the coat is closed). Black pants or blue jeans with brown or lilac/grey sneakers.

I think you wear the color well. I like beige trenches best because I appreciate their classic vibe.

Such a great style.

Tough call, though, about the colour. I do think you wear it much more successfully than some people would! But it's not the easiest, is it?

Can you show us pics with the coat styled a bit as you would wear it? I.e. whatever colour tops, or scarf, plus shoes? It will give the whole effect much more clearly. I think for a purchase as significant as this one, you really want to be sure it's the best for you. And Burberrys are available in lots of colours.

The beige is nice but with your coloring either a colorful scarf or a brighter color would look even nicer. Great coat though!

The color is nice but it is hard to see the whole coat. It seems big on you. Did your store carry petite sizes (not sure if you need that?!). The sleeves seem long. That is not a deal breaker obviously because they can be tailored but how is the fit all around?

That looks great on you! I can't comment on the color, because I'm also not a huge fan of beige, but think it looks pretty great on you, still! I like the dark buttons on it, too. I'm having a hard time remembering what the last one looked like.

I like it, but honestly with your skin tone I'd go with a more colorful coat, OR a darker neutral like black, dark gray (do they make trenches in gray?) or navy. The color looks fine, just not that great, imho. I'm not a fan of beige in general though so I might be biased.

Beautiful! Imagine it with a colorful turtleneck or a scarf, too. I think this khaki color Burberry trench is so classic that the color rules almost don't apply. Maybe not your most flattering color, true, but I think the color is fine and the trench is so fabulous it's worth it.

In a previous discussion, a YLFer suggested this trench:

http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/169229

It's obviously a far cry from the original silk trench, but I thought it would be worthwhile to try it out. Well, pics are attached. I didn't think I could pull off beige (the pic I posted a few days ago was a yellowish beige, and I would order that coat in navy).

Sizing: the military trench I tried on a few days ago in-store skimmed by body. This coat, even when sized down, is looser, but fits well in the shoulders, with ample room in the arms (I find sleeves are often too tight for my shoulder width).

So, as far as beiges go, do I looked washed out in this coat? I'm not wearing any make-up/accessories.

Thanks to whoever suggested this coat--I was pleasantly surprised.
