I first tried a nude cotton garbadine (less casual than sateen), but it ended up being quite expensive for the quality, nearly as expensive as the silk coat. The fit was also off. I order a coat from Net-a-Porter, but it's still in transit and I thought it'd be worthwhile in the meantime to go to the Burberry store while I could (first free day in a looooong time) to check out that model in size 6 and 4. They didn't carry that model, but they did have this military style trench which is one of their cheaper models. I tried on the beige because it goes with everything and is classic; the navy, however, was gorgeous. There's a part of me that really wants to beige/nude colour because it's a pop of contrast that goes with my dark bottoms, but my skin colour/complexion, as you saw, is itself pale/pink. Very classic though. I would vote for a navy coat just in general, because to me beige is boring. The store didn't have it (classic cotton garbadine in light beige, black buttons, mid-thigh), but they did have sateen trenches that were water resistant. The sateen looks much better in real life--the shine is subtle, compared to the photographs online. I was deliberating between honey and navy--the sales associate thought that the blue suited my eyes, but that the beige would work better with my jeans uniform. Thoughts? Go with what matches eyes or what matches the outfit? </p>
