Here it is styled with my go-to Regent blazer and 9" skinnies from J Crew. To my eye, the fit is almost *better*, because the blazer gives the shoulder some structure.&nbsp;</p> <p>I'm planning to try the Saskia from Hobbs that I know is such a hit with fabbers when I get to the UK later in the fall, so this piece just needs to be a reliable stand by until I can properly updgrade. I tried the M, which was too big. Ultimately, the biggest problem about the design was that when I stuck my hands in my pockets, the sides gapped, thanks to the button-up detail on the side. One of those features that looks great, but doesn't work well in practice. I sent them back!</p> <p>I happened to find an old season CM version with&nbsp;<b>leather sleeves&nbsp;</b>for sale on the cheap via Tradesy (a 2013 release *I think* and in perfect shape). While it's not quite a classic as the original I'm replacing because of the leather sleeves, the quality is excellent (not true of all of their releases this year) and I think the fit is good. I am not entirely sure about the visual line of the sleeves, but I think it will work well with black and other more substantial footwear in fall-early spring (i.e. not bare feet - haha!). </p> <p>It was quite inexpensive ($65) and it fits, so I'm inclined to keep it, but please let me know what you think!</p> <p>(And do forgive the terrible mirror photos and complete lack of styling here!)</p> <p>#1: The old trench which I'm replacing<br />#2: The Janney trench in S<br />#3-5: The newly thrifted trench (also S) </p>
