I actually chose more black and white outfits because I wanted the dress for the wedding to have that extra quality of color and make it more special when I wore it.(if this makes sense)<br />In concept, and in the little photos I took ,it works. This is complete opposite to what I felt worked for Angie a while ago when she was in Mexico to meet Fernanda, I loved the contrast of her b&amp;w outfits with the warm colors of her surroundings. In my bags to this trip I only took things that I wouldn't be awfully upset if I lost them.Not because I think that this destination in particular was more likely to loose my baggage but because if that happened I would have lost my things in a place I didn't know and&nbsp; I wouldn't even know how to start replacing them.If on top of that I had lost my favorite items it would not be a very cool beginning of vacation.<br />In my hand luggage we took our wedding attire(including shoes), a swimming suit for each of us and another change of clothes.</p> <p>Pic 1- On the plane- my strapless jumpsuit, cardigan and scarf<br />Pic 2-In the bags: <ul> <li>6 dresses(3 short ones and 3 long ones)</li> <li>5 shirts</li> <li>1 pair of shorts</li> <li>1 pair of jeans&nbsp; </li> </ul> Pic 3- Swimwear capsule: <ul> <li>denim shirtdress</li> <li>towel dress</li> <li>skirt/dress</li> <li>1 swimsuit</li> <li>1swimtop+ swim black shorts</li> </ul> Pic4- What I bought: Pareos( it was my not so hidden agenda to buy pareos there and I loved these ones, as a bonus the pink one matches my pink shorts)</p> <p>I also took some espadrilles(that&nbsp; i wore on the plane), flipflops and casual black wedges)</p> <p>What worked: <ul> <li>I wore all the dresses,</li> <li>&nbsp;the shorts were nice o wear with a shirt,</li> <li>the bathing suit ,the skirt/dress and the towel dress were very easy to wear to the beach</li> <li>My travel wardrobe is still the most comfortable thing to wear on&nbsp; plane for me</li> <li>Everything was very easy to care for, no problem with wrinkles or anything of the sort</li> </ul> What I would have changed(or didn't work): <ul> <li>Definitely more color, the vegetation and the beach invite brighter colors than black and white dresses or the occasional blue.</li> <li>Some of the tops I took have no place in my wardrobe. Even when confronted with having them as the only possibilities I preferred to repeat outfits</li> <li>the denim shirtdress was too warm of cover up for this kind of beach vacation</li> <li>the combination of shorts and swim top were not very comfortable, probably because I bought them in different occasions and from different brands so the top was too long and the waist of the shorts too high</li> <li>I need a fancier skirt that I can easily pack without getting wrinkles</li> </ul> <br />Sorry for the long post.
