We went early in the am for laps (cause my dad and I both do backstroke), and it was nice to swim as the sun came up.<br /> We went to the community pool at night when less crowded- but that one is definitely not a lap pool. I use it for work and off duty days in the summer too.</p> <p>2 issues though- it does fly open in wind, as it is a wrap, and it has velcro, which can damage other clothes in the wash. The water was really murky too, plus the area was surrounded by houses. Also, you saw your Dad, you were in a lovely place and you had fun. Great!<br />It is difficult to guess what will work and what will not. Not to mention when the weather does not cooperate! I have a series of&nbsp; travel capsule templates (made by me during the years). When I leave for a vacation&nbsp;I take a template and update/tweak it according to what I currently have in the wardrobe. When I return home I write down what worked well, what did not work, what I missed. Near (not in Thank God) The ever expanding Villages ( hence why I said dystopia). Ever read A Wrinkle in Time? There's a scene with all the kids bouncing balls at the same time. Quick recap if you didn't read pt 1 yet- 5 days in Dystopian Central FL w/ dad + 2 travel days- with only a carryon bag.</p> <p>The activities<br /> Lots of swimming! Miles at the Y, goofing off in the odd shaped community pool and hot tubs, snorkeling w manatees (used wetsuit)! A bit of hiking and beach visiting, and lots of walking around his community. Watching a bar cover band, visiting the flea market (Goodwill on steroids), watching dad's community baseball team get trounced, driving around nature drive, and enjoying the nice weather.</p> <p>MVPs<br /> Print bag- used daily inc travel, Ripskirt- used all 5 days pre and post pools, gold Birks- used all 5 days (not on travel days).</p> <p>Runners up- tankini top and bottom- 3 wears. Not for laps, just for community pool. Top is loose enough to wear as a shirt. Black Athleta tank- travel days underneath + on its own. Also slept in 2 nights.</p> <p>Worn twice- black dress, sunhat, skort (sleep only), cropped leggings (sleep only), other black tank (sleep only), purple swimsuit, rashguard (Y pool a bit cold).<br /> Brought the skort and cropped leggings in case I would have used dad's bike or rented a boat or something, aside from sleeping in. </p> <p>Worn once- rust dress, burgundy top, rust top (worn in day and slept in). </p> <p>Again- could have cut back a little, but pretty good for a first attempt! </p>
