The boys and hubs packed their stuff in packing cubes and stuffed them into a 30" or 34" rolling duffle that was checked for the flight. Their clothes are small I have a weird fear of losing my things, which is why I always carry on. The boys shared one small backpack on the plane (hubs' packable backpack that he used in the park) that held their coloring books and in-flight entertainment.</p> <p><div>Thanks, <b>delurked</b>!! I like the bottoms you’ve chosen, and agree changing out the jeans would have given you another bottom option during the week. I also like the two tennis shoes because it makes so much more sense to have the most comfortable shoes and the ability to change them out. The bags look good too. I am bummed I missed last week's "being me" challenge, and I didn't get a chance to comment as much as I would have liked, but I really enjoyed looking back at everyone's WIWs. </p> <p> <div>I wanted to share what I packed in case it's helpful to anyone. My goal is to have a mixable capsule that fits in one carry-on tote for any trip of less than two weeks. I didn't buy anything new for the trip, but will add finds for items that may still be available.<br /> </div><div><br /> </div><div><b>Trip length:</b> 7 days/6 nights<br /> <b>Weather:</b> 84F (29C)/49F (10C); 30-50% chance of rain each day<br /> <b>Activities</b><b>: </b>theme park rides, lots of walking, swimming<br /> </div><br /> <div>I started with a tan Disney ball cap that I knew would be worn for much of the trip; it keeps the sun off my face and is a great fallback on days I don't have time to style my hair. I used the colors from the hat graphic (yellow, maroon, navy, white) to help me choose tops, bottoms, and sneakers.</div><br /> <b>Sneakers: </b>Maroon Nikes (worn on plane); navy Asics (in bag)<br /> <b><br /> Tops:</b> 9 total; 7 short sleeve tees (pink, yellow, navy, olive, 3 obligatory cheesy Disney-themed graphic tees), 1 maroon plaid button up, 1 cream quarter-zip pullover</p> <p>I always freeze when I fly, so I wore the pink tee, button-up, and pullover on the plane, with a pair of jeans, and maroon Nikes. The button-up was lightweight and easy to throw over the tees throughout the week. And the heavier pullover easily fit in a backpack at the park and was nice to have on chilly/cloudy nights.</p> <p><b>Bottoms: </b>jeans (on the plane), navy Gapfit joggers, olive cargo pants, Prana board shorts (can wear over swim bottoms or as shorts)</p> <p>I only wore the jeans on the flights; I found them too heavy for the hot Florida sun. In the future, I would swap them for another lightweight pant.</p> <p>I ended up bringing one more ball cap that had a shared colorway with my clothes. Bonus points for it being Star Wars themed.</p> <p>Everything fit in my carry-on tote (Briggs &amp; Riley Baseline Shopper) with room for in-flight snacks and my toiletries. I brought a waterproof packable daypack (New Outlander) to use at the park. This daypack has become a workhorse for active/casual day trips. It folds into itself and fits in my hand, it's waterproof, made of ripstop, and has lots of pockets, including two water bottle pockets. It comes in several colors. I also packed a Patagonia Torrentshell rain jacket that stuffs into it's pocket (not shown). I only used it one day.I brought a bikini that I ended up not using.</p> <p>I was SUPER happy to be able to easily mix and match any piece in the capsule, and not have to worry about getting dressed. </p>
