It was kind of amazing - the water soaked through the carpet only in areas where things were easy to move, and only leaked over the ktichen. If it had made it to the living room where my couch and computer and books are, I would have been very upset, but since all my stuff is fine it's mostly inconvenient waiting for my turn in the repair process.<br /> (The complex was extremely quick to follow up with heaters &amp; dehumidifiers, which were running for nearly a week, because they want to make sure there won't be any mold or mildew issues down the line. I'm grateful for that.)</p> <p>Thanks for the interest in seeing pictures. I have to add a warning that I am completely decorating on a budget - nearly everything is furnished by hand-me-downs, Ikea, Target, Fred Meyer, or Pier 1 - but I think I've managed to make it look pretty nice. I mentioned I was moving, so thought I would check in with an update, and hopefully soon I'll be around here more consistently.</p> <p>So I moved a little over 3 weeks ago into a one-bedroom place very near to my work. It's been a blast to decorate with a base of chocolate brown and turquoise colors with mossy green and mustard accents, and choosing pieces of art made by my grandmother to coordinate. It's been fun and I had it looking very cute and homey for about a week.</p> <p>However, over a week ago a pipe on the floor above me burst, and along with most of the building my unit was flooded and had leaking from the ceiling. Miraculously, none of my personal things were damaged, but due to the amount of units that were water-damaged, the repairs sound like they will take a while. It's liveable, but I'm kind of in limbo.</p> <p>In the meantime, taking pictures of what I'm wearing has been last priority, but it's wonderful to have such a wide rotation of fall-back outfits that allow me to get out of the door in a hurry and still feel polished.</p> <p>I hope I'll be able to catch up on all of the happenings around here soon. </p>
