It can be very warm in May in Italy (mid or high 80’s) with no air conditioning and the sun is strong. We all live such a casual lifestyle in the US but we need to remember we are going to another country that is more traditonal. In some churches you are expected to cover your shoulders. And yes, comfy walking shoes rule! I was there four years ago but it was January so I'm not much help with style, except to echo good walking shoes! The trendy young italians wear jeans, have tattoos & leather jackets. Everyone wears lots of scarfs. They do tend to dress up more than I typically see in America. I saw distressed jeans worn, but also non, so I think what you feel comfortable in--I might tend to recommend non-distressed so it is a bit nicer looking. you can search street style on instagram & see what folks are wearing at the moment. The coast has a definite beachy vibe, Rome is everything from alternative to high end fashion. Tuscany has a bit of both, more casual elegant--smaller towns, the villas and farm life affects the fashion. I’m so terrible. hgr on "Tory Burch?" https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/tory-burch#post-2019929 Mon, 15 Apr 2019 21:54:44 +0000 hgr 2019929@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ Sorry about your difficult year.  I think you should treat yourself to something nice in the states  (perhaps TB?) and something nice in Italy.    Pack lightly for your trip and plan to get something in Italy.  I was in Italy two weeks ago.  I went to Rome, Sorrento, Amalfi, Poisitano and Orvieto.  I was with a large group of people and  we walked everywhere.  Before my trip, I bought a pair of Santia's and also wore my Chelsea Shoes by Steve Madden(picture #1, #2)  The Santia's were great at home but most of the streets in Italy are uneven cobblestone and I found that I almost turned my ankle a few times.  I wore the Steve Madden's for the majority of my trip. (very comfy for me but make sure you have shoes that work for you) There a lot of high end purse stores in Italy  (Furla, Longchamp, Lowe)  I did not buy any high end items in Italy but I did purchase some items in medium priced stores.  Consider buying something that is particular to the region.  Research the shopping in the areas you are visiting.    I did see a lot of nice purses and shoes.  Although I did see some heels, I mostly saw women in very stylish sneakers (leather, metallic) and stylish combat boots. Let me introduce myself. I am a 41 year old Socal gal that pretty much lives in jeans and fitted  t-shirts. If I am going to dress up, i will wear a black wrap dress or jeans with a cute blouse... I live in a coastal town and the style is very casual here. My wardrobe is in desperate need of a make over!  Its been a tough year. My husband was diagnosed with and treated for cancer . I completely neglected myself during this time and now I want to treat myself. We are going on a trip to Italy in 6 weeks and I would like to fit in with the stylish Italians. My first step- Shoes and handbag. Question, is  Tory Burch still in?
