I vote for silk or silk blend long sleeve woven blouses. (Not button downs, unless that's your thing, but other styles). They're super easy to layer under cardigans or jackets or whatever your chosen topper is, luxurious against the skin, but don't read 'business' unless you pair them with a suit.

Last fall I bought a couple of mixed media sweatshirts that filled this niche nicely for casual wear but some Fabbers dressed them up. Lightweight cotton or linen pullover sweaters in loose knits are also an idea. I find that I can extend their wear by layering over a tank and later a long sleeved tee for more warmth.

If I never see another crew-neck, long-sleeved te, I'll be ecstatic.

Seriously, that's been my top of choice for autumn-like temps since...well, since a long time, and i'm bored!

I need casual and semi-dressy tops that will keep me comfortable in cooler weather.

Since I've moved to Seattle, I probably won't need too many really warm tops, since I can just layer if it gets cold, and do have a few sweaters and casual sweat shirts that still fit into my style and have some wear left in them.

But, for those tops between summer lightweights and winter woolens, I'm not sure what to do.

Ideas? Examples? Is it too early to be looking for this kind of clothing?
