Thanks all! And ha re: flappy wings :)
Yes to monochromatic and low contrast for me these days Angie! Lots of black, brown, beige, rust, and olive.

LOVE the wrap. KILLER colour on you!

"Wrapped- yes but would get in the way when I type"

....it won't if you tuck it under your arms in a certain way. I do this frequently!

The black pants with those shoes are a lovely quiet and classic statement. In fact, all these looks are!

(#5 - I think it's the angle of the camera making your top half look wider by the way. That said, low contrast creates vertical integrity).

Sounds like you're preferring low contrast, and monochromatic looks on this leg of your style journey. Listen to those feelings and milk it!

Shawls are one of those that I’m on again / off again about… lol, I guess maybe literally. Sometimes they offer the perfect amount of warmth. Sometimes they’re just flappy wings. I don’t try to make them a part of outfits anymore. They’re sort of a blanket that lives on a chair just in case.

Potentially- that's why I added the tan sweater, medium brown jacket, and camel coat this year. I thought that might give me more of the bare arm look that I'm used to.
The snake sweater is lighter than skintone overall, but the print has darker tan and taupe so it's a one off.

Off to another workday filled with joy, laughter, and feeling valued....

Does it help if top or topper are close to skin-tone? (Genuine question—I have no experience with scoop necks in cooler weather).

Exactly! Then it sort of reverts back to my summer/non topper formula- instead of introducing a 3rd color.

That said....matching topper and pants + contrasting top or matching top and pants + contrasting topper works too (if the necklines don't compete).
I think I'm learning

A matching topper would also reduce the number of color blocks clamoring for attention.

It may be smoother, but I just feel very boxy with high neckline + sleeves, because of my wide chest and shoulders. I think having a matching topper gets around that, plus it just looks less cluttery in general. Kind of a twinset!

I like that crew top. Just fitted enough to show your curves, not so much as to be inappropriate for work/daytime/anything outside the club It’s good with a cardi too, but I agree with you on 3&4–all that fabric flopping around would bug me. I wonder if you’d like the look of 5 better if you fasten a button on the blazer to give the top more of a V shape instead of parallel lines.

On the photos, the upload only takes the current version, not the full file with all editing, etc. If you put a black dot or an emoji over the logo, no one could undo that editing to see the company name.

The 3 (or 4) color blocks on your décolletage—cami, wrap top, and skin (+ blazer)—in the last 3 pix show what I meant about mock Ts and crew necks giving a “smoother” look.

On to crew necks and wrap tops....
1. Crew neck alone- not problematic. I think the print goes a long way in not making me feel too square.
2. With a matching cardi-happy with this version.
3. Wrapped- yes but would get in the way when I type.
4. Cardi + wrap- a whole lotta fabric going on.
5. With blazer- top half feeling wide. A longer, low contrast blazer may be ok.

I actually ended up wearing this with my black company vest- not shown due to logo. I liked that solution, cause it drew the eye in and not to my wide shoulders. Think I want to use vests more often if I wear crewneck tops in winter.

6. Wrap sweater with brown tank underlayer for modesty. I do somewhere have a teal tank top to go under it, which would make layering look less chaotic. I also could just stitch the neckline higher, which I usually do with wraps.
7. With matching cardi- yes! Warmth without the chaos!
8. With blazer- too much going on at the neckline for me.
To be continued....
