Hi gals,
very cool topic. I'm a clothing designer and always was dreaming about piece of clothing that would resolve all 4 problems : cost, versatility, comfort and style. Finally I came up to it: I named it MetroTude. You can google it and see what a wonderful garment it is! It can be a dress(office dress, sexy dress, cocktail dress- you name it!), it can be a top(sweater, off shoulders, one shoulder, cowlneck , hooded and many more!) and also it is a scarf in 4 variations. I love this piece, now all my friends love it. We are going forvard and doing our best to place it to Market and I know it is a great product!!!!

I could use some WTW advice. I'm giving birth in about 5 weeks and hoping (praying, crossing all fingers) that I get my hourglass shape back. God I miss having a waistline.

Anyway, I'm attending a family wedding in midAugust. Being realistic, I'll likely still have some extra baby weight and belly pouch on me so my traditional cinched waist dresses may not work. Do you have any recommendations on wedding what to wear for an hourglass with baby weight tendencies?

Ljubica, if you upload your photograph onto photobucket you would be able black out your face or our very own Bella used to hide her face very well behind a pair of oversized shades. Just a couple of suggestions for you.

Hi everyone!

I'm a new member, but I've been following you for months.
Your influence has got me a full closet of new things and tons of compliments from my friends and coworkers.
The most important thing is that getting ready for work is not a nightmare anymore.
This is my first attempt at styling and posting an outfit and I chose my new denim shirt because it is something I wouldn't even consider to wear if it wasn't for you.

I'm a bit tecnically challenged, so I'll keep my fingers crossed that it works properly.

I'm a little confused about your post, Lilliann. One's size doesn't really dictate what colors look good on you. Yes, light colors draw attention to certain areas, but just as many thin women have areas they are self-conscious about - we all do. It's not so black and white, in my experience. Also, some "plump" women may have more fabulous arms than thin women...you just never know! It seems like fashion is about self-expression and wearing what makes you FEEL good, which hopefully also looks good.

According to my thinking every woman likes to be cautious about her looks and appearance. Anyway, fashion is mostly related to women. It can also be said that fashion is synonymous to women. But the fact is that fashion is not just about dressing, but many things add to it.
If you are plump women, avoid sleeveless cuts. Wear clothing made of dark colors than lighter shades. Dull colors like dull blue or dirty blue also make a good choice. Wearing small prints or vertical line prints make you look slimmer. Beige and fawn colors look good on you, if you are of a medium structure. In case of blouses, try on nets because they can disguise your physical flaws. If you are a thin women, all color ranges and color shades look good on you. Sleeveless, deep cuts and strapped blouses make you look gorgeous.

Thanks!

I think you should go with your instinct and buy a bright bag if that makes you happy. I also think that with your black and white skirt, you can wear a bright top AND a bright bag (but not in the same color).
I forgot to comment on shoes. You might want to consider leaving the sneaker-style shoes at home and bringing both pairs of sandals instead. The chance that it's going to be warm and you'll want to wear open shoes is pretty high I'd say. (Of course, you might curse me later if it happens to be cold and rainy after all...)

Thanks Antje!

I also much prefer skirts to bermudas. But I've been loving the volume trend lately, and have several volumonous tops that work well with bermudas, so I will probably bring one or two pairs.

And yes, I happen to have a clutch in green. "The" green of this season. I think it will work well with the brown dress and the two skirts.

Which do you think is the better approach:

1) keep the tops neutral (white, navy, black) and choose a handbag and accessories for day that are in a bright color like yellow, orange, green or fuschia;

2) go with bright colored tops and keep the handbag neutral, for example, to coordinate with the nude sandals? I do have an Ergo Coach bag in a neutral tan that would work, and that I find is perfect to carry when traveling.

However, for some reason, my heart is heading for option #1... maybe that's just an excuse to splurge on a mustard yellow or orange bag?? Hee hee.

Hi shiny, I really like the white/navy/black theme. In addition to yellow and orange, you could also throw in some greens for tops or accessories. Or fuchsia, if you like that color (I like it a lot and think it looks great with navy and black).

But definitely still bring the "brown LBD" dress for evenings. Since it's one piece, and you won't even need a wrap (it's gonna be hot in Paris in August), this shouldn't really conflict with sticking to the daytime white/navy/black theme for everything else, as long as your going-out clutch works with the dress.

I personally love dresses, and if you feel comfortable in them, I'd bring them all, since you'd definitely look stylish on your sight-seeing tours. And I favor skirts over bermudas, but of course that's personal taste. It does sound that both of your patterned skirts would work great with the color theme.

I don't think you'll need a lot in terms of cardigans and shrugs, one or two at most.
