I think you paired just the right top with those jeans. I agree that if you have a bit of a looser fit on bottom, a form-fitting top often looks great. I think the low rise helps get the proportions just right...and the half tuck works perfectly. I think that was what was going on when I first tried these on a few days ago. The waistband wasn't obnoxiously tight, but snug. If they hadn't magically worked on the third day, I was considering wetting the waistband and stretching it out a little. But seeing them on everyone else, then taking the pics, made me realize that they work just fine, and gave me courage to rip off the tags and wear them out of the house.  Why I'd have returned them: 1. They are waaaayyyyy lower than any jean I've ever worn before!   That does take some getting used to. But - my fellow apple ladies who prefer higher waists, do give these a whirl and keep an open mind!  Because they are relaxed and the waistband curves (or whatever it's magic is) I'm not getting love handles/beer belly effect! Even when I sit down.  The litmus test? I tried them on with a skin-tight tank top first. And they worked! Even while sitting down! And no yanking and futzing either!  On that note, what do you think about this sweater with the jeans? I did try them on with looser sweaters and tops. I liked them a lot with a loose tee shirt half tucked. But for some reason I like them best with a sweater that's just a bit more fitted-- I don't want volume all over. So if looser on bottom, I want sleeker on top, for the balance. What do you think? 2. Because they are so low, I fear they stumpify my legs.  But seeing the pictures I realize they don't, not when a heel is added, but also because they are tapered/skinny.  3. The stitching is an off white, and there's a lot of detail on the pockets. I have a major allergy to anything other than navy stitching on jeans. I don't know why, it may be all in my head, but often jeans with light stitching seem to add the illusion of lots of weight where I don't need it. When I evaluated the rear view in my mirror at home, I thought my rear looked fat, but then when I saw the photos, I don't see that at all, and I'm very happy with the rear view too! Who'd have thought?  LENGTH: To tuck into these booties, I folded them up about 4 or 5 inches. They work if I roll them just fine. But yes, after I wash them a few times, I'll probably have them shortened a bit.  Angie - my hair: my hairdresser is using a new technique with the highlights -- no foils, just cotton. It gives a more natural, less streaky effect. It also takes less time. There are three different shades of highlights. A day later, I tried them on again and they still felt tight. Then last night, I put them on once again, and they were not snug at all. In fact, they were perfect.  I don't think they stretched because I barely had them on long enough each time to stretch them. I think my body fluctuated that much in just a few days! Regardless, yesterday I put them on and they felt so comfy, so perfect, I ripped the tags off, and wore them out to dinner. What do you think? Do I get the YLF approval? DH loves them. Enough to agree to take pics.  I'm also sharing the new Bernardo packable puffer, which I bought after my favorite puffer got ripped on my last trip. That puffer has been repaired but I figure it is only a  matter of time. I had tried on the Bernardo awhile back in the store and really liked it, but was worried it wouldn't be warm enough. It is light and impractical for the coldest days, but with all the traveling I'm doing, this is going to get a lot of use. I have been wearing it a lot lately and testing it out in various temperatures.
