I think you should keep, the light color fits into spring nicely. The are boots, but short, so they would work wtih long t's and skinnies on warmer days.

I actually think that boot-lets (these are really higher than booties in my eyes) are still a very modern look over skinnies. My current favorite, actually. Gorgeous! I can't wait to see the outfit.

Angie (and others)--I purchased and they have arrived and I LOVE. Just seeking approval in determining if I should keep or return. In light of the overwhelming approval on my poorly designed yay/nay poll, I will style them this week and post pics! Thanks to all!!

You're totally right, Kate.
It's my first time with a Yay or Nay and, suffice it to say, I royally screwed it up by asking two variations of an already weird question, ensuring that no one knew how to reply! :)
Let's revise to say, Yay if you'd purchase the boots, Nay if you think the bootie ship (hah, see what I did there?) is about to set sail!

I would buy them and wear them! I bought my cognac booties with plans to wear them when it's warm (but not too horribly hot) and my brown knee high boots are less seasonably appropriate. In fact, the high is 77, and I'm wearing my booties right now!

Also, are we voting yay = would purchase spring booties or yay = it's too late in the year for booties? It's a tad confusing.

I posted a similar question about when it's acceptable to wear boots. I actually love these, and I'd definitely wear them for spring. Can I ask what brand/style they are?

Considering the SF climate, I think you will get good use out of these. I also wear boots of that height under bootcuts all the time, so if skinnies end up going the way of the dinosaur, you should still be able to wear them.

San Francisco is almost year-round bootie territory. (Hot fall days being the exception.) I don't think this trend is disappearing so fast, either. Also, I don't think the skinny jean trend will go away that fast. I don't see people immediately jumping on the flare band wagon. When skinnies became more mainstream, boot cuts never went away.

Finally, I think you can easily wear these booties with flare/wide leg pants. The semi-pointed toe will look great peeking from underneath those PPL trousers.

Most of the fall designer shows featured slim pants (slouchy and stovepipe, ankle-length vs. longer, all sorts of permutations) rather than flares, so I think it's the flares that are having a moment.

Get the boots and enjoy them!

Definitely not too late if you ask me, especially in your climate. Even if skinny/straight legged jeans tucked into booties/ankle boots would be "out" soon (which I doubt), then you could still wear them underneath bootcut and flared jeans (provided they are long enough for this heel height).

Love these boots!

(I voted nay = not too late)

As some of you know, I'm a relatively late adopter of the bootie crazy. I bought my first pair in late 2009 but only started wearing them with frequency during the past few months.
In my search of a neutral/taupe bootie, I had ordered the Steve Madden ones that Angie recommended but didn't love them on for some reason, nor could I get the sizing to work for me. I gave up the hunt. And then stumbled across these (on sale!) and ordered them.
They fit beautifully and are suprisingly comfortable. I haven't styled them yet but am seeking input on the practicality of this purchase. I think I would wear them mainly with straight/skinny jeans tucked in but since we're moving into more flared pants, is it wise to purchase shoes based on a look that may be passe? I will also pair these with tights and skirts but since I have booties in black and grey, these fall into the want (not need) category.

So, ladies, back to the question at hand: would you purchase spring booties or wait to see if this trend still has longevity in the fall?
I should mention that I live in San Francisco so our summer is akin to your fall--chilly and foggy, with boots highly prevalent!
