Super body con skinny seems to be on its way out, thank goodness--butthe idea of a skinny or "slim" line to the leg is not. In fact, I am hard pressed to find even a straight leg silhouette in trousers. (Though it is still available in jeans.)

Skinny Domination might be collapsing --- but I think lean bottoms will always be "in style" in one form or another. It's not my best silhouette, but I always enjoy it in winter -- skinnies tucked into boots and a cozy long sweater will always be in closet.

Going to check out that EF link.............

I think the long over lean silhouette has great timelessness to it. If you have been curious about it for a long time id recommend trying on some pieces (perhaps you could find a whole outfit in a B&M store) to see how it feels on you!

Jenny, not Angie, obviously, but I think the overall trend is toward less body con silhouettes and more fluidity. But skinny jeans are now pretty much a classic and you can still find hundreds of calf-sucking skinnies in the stores. Look for "ultra skinny" or "super skinny" silhouettes if that is what you're after.

I think there is opportunity to wear many different cuts and silhouettes. No single one rules. And that is wonderful!

Thanks for the tip, gryffin! I watched the EF video. I think I'm noticing that the leans aren't as lean as they used to be? First off, a lot of the long toppers were shown over more slouchy bottoms. But the ones that were shown over lean bottoms still had a bit more slouchiness to them than what I used to see-- for example, fabric gathering around the ankle or not as tight around the ankle. I am wondering if this is just a quirk of this particular collection, or if that is where the trends are.

Jenny - did you see Inge's/Shannon's link last night on EF's latest runway show? So much of that is very long - duster length cardi's, coats and toppers over lean. This is my preferred silhouette and I have been thrilled to see more long toppers coming onto the scene!! I do agree there are more voluminous bottoms on the horizon, and of course, you need to ask Angie what's going to be on trend, if this is important to you, but I'll be eagerly waiting to see the offerings and doing some careful buying to update and replace long toppers in my arsenal!!

Hi everyone!

I have long been intrigued by the long over lean silhouette but I've never actually pulled it off. I've never owned a pair of skinny jeans/pants that would work for such an outfit. It seems that the websites I've visited lately don't have as many skinny jeans as they used to and I'm wondering, am I too late? Is this look on the way out? Maybe I should find a newer silhouette instead?

Open to any thoughts on this!
