FWIW, I was stuck at a research library in Arkansas this summer where they kept the temp at 58 to try to quell the horrendous humidity. I was freezing even while wearing jeans and a coat. For a casual look, they would not have to be black! Also then for young gals especially, shorter skirts, skater skirts and the like look great with tights and look very seasonal.
