Hi rachelthrives ( Rachel?). I agree with Joy. I think top #3 looks great as is and not too big. #1 and #2 look a bit stretched out and had it, and the blue and white floral print one does look too roomy overall. The dress and skirts look worth saving IF, as others have said, you can be bothered and would not rather buy new ones unless your style is changing. Kind of depends what you can afford, how long you've had them, boredom factor, cost per wear etc etc etc.
I recently ditched a similar black skirt I'd had since 2002! But since I think I last wore it to my Dad's funeral in 2010, I thought maybe I didn't need or want it any more... it still fit.

Thanks, Ledonna! I'm inclined to agree with you on the tops. I need to look at the condition on the skirts and think about whether they really work for my lifestyle now--I'm finding lined skirts (which both of these are) feel too formal for my current job.

Joy, I am definitely buying new things, too--a lot of new things! I was starting from almost scratch with a closet full of worn out stuff that didn't fit. Right now, I'm kind of doing a cycle of buy some stuff, do some culling of the worst stuff, repeat. Total size of wardrobe is about 50 items, including shoes but not including other accessories--it doesn't feel big enough right now. I have bought a lot of tops and bottoms over the last few months, and now I need to work on filling in holes in shoes and other accessories.

unfrumped, good question! I am definitely evolving. I've been building things around color, since everything I had felt dark and too neutral. Favorites right now are tomato red/orange, olive, and emerald green. This skirt from Ann Taylor is probably my favorite piece of clothing right now: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/224405993907078280/ (though that styling is too preppy for me).

I was officially the last person to get on the skinny jeans train and am loving the two pairs I've bought. And I'm also finding that I like to wear skirts and dresses a lot, and finding ways to make that work with an unpredictable job and unpredictable Chicago weather. Like maximalism; hate drape and craving the return of waist definition, since my waist is one of my best features. Will try to post some pictures of good outfits soon!

I would alter the skirts and the dress would look fine I think with a belt If you don't like the look of the loose shirts then just get new ones.

I'm hearing you might be up for a change of silhouettes and style evolution and not just new sizes.
What do you have already that you really love? Like your fave silhouette and outfit or 2. That may help see what is your goal and do you need any of these-- as you might if you have to get get through a week's laundry cycle or some different occasions.

Except for the blue print top, the others look like they are not too terribly big, especially the top in #3. The alterations route, well it depends on how much you like the garment and how worn it is. I might put the ones I may want in a holding zone. If a new replacement is not found and you still like it later, you could get it altered. For your skirts, it may mean just moving a button. It would be easy to do yourself. You should also reward yourself with some new things.

Hello,

The tops look like they have seen better days.

The dress could be salvaged depending upon if you want to spent the money for the alterations.

To me these skirts are classic and look lovely and are worth the alteration.

It just would depemd upon the $$$ spent vs weather is it easier to purchase new.

I'm pretttty sure the answer on a lot of these is "toss," but wanted some second opinions. I don't trust my eye on fit, since I tend to be really slow on accepting new silhouettes, and don't love the current drape-y look.

Tops: I think they are all too big and not salvageable.

Dress: likely too big all around. Maybe salvageable with a shortening and a belt (I know this current belt doesn't work)?

Skirts: I think these are too big around the waist. I'm posting two pics, one with how they fit currently and one if I had the waist taken in. I still like both skirts and am wondering if it's worth getting them altered, or whether I should toss in favor of buying something more current.

Thanks in advance for your input!
